Bills Daily 2007 Mock Draft

For the eighth year in a row, Bills Daily tries to predict who the Bills will draft. Obviously these are just our best guesses along with some wishful thinking and we give you alternate picks if they players we want are gone already. If you want to do more research check our draft links.

The Bills need a lot of help so a trade down in the first round is not out of the question to add more draft picks. They have 8 picks as things stand now and need starters on both lines and depth almost everywhere else.

Please e-mail us with your comments on our projections.

ROUND/PICK PREDICTION/ANALYSIS
1-12 ( #12 overall)   OLB Paul Posluszny- Penn State Willis is the chic pick, but the Bills rarely go with chic picks. They may trade down and get Posluszny anyway or take a CB, most likely Darrelle Revis of Pittsburgh.
2-11 ( #43 overall)    CB Daymeion Hughes - California A protoypical cover two cornerback is a good pick at this point. The team may go for a running back depending on who is out there, maybe Antonio Pittman.
3-10 (#74 overall)    RB Michael Bush - Louisville The Bills may wait until round three for the back they need and gamble on Bush who is recovering from a broken leg. Just as Levy gambled on Thurman Thomas in 1988.
3-29 (#92 overall)    DT Marcus Thomas - Florida He has the speed and quickness to be a pursuing tackle that the team likes. Another option is the little bigger DT Brandon Mebane from California.
4-12 (#111 overall)    WR Laurent Robinson - Illinois St. Has the size the team needs to add to the wide receiver position. Needs to add some strength but has a lot of raw talent. Another possibility is a tight end here like Michael Allan from little Whitworth College.
6-10 (#184 overall)    QB Jared Zabransky - Boise State The team needs to add a QB and this fiery guy fits the teams mold at the position. Other possibilities at the position include Carson Palmer's little brother Jordan from UTEP.
7-12 (#222 overall)    S Jesse Daniels - LSU The team needs to add depth at the position and Daniels has good size to play. Another possibility is TCU's Marvin White who needs some work on his technique but may be a better fit if he's still there.
7-29 (#239 overall)    ILB Marvin Mitchell - Tennessee If the Bills go outside at linebacker early in the draft, they will go inside late as they need to pick two linebackers because of lack of depth there. Mitchell plays aggressively like the team likes and he could be a late round sleeper. Kelvin Smith from Syracuse is another possibility.
