What To Say When There's Nothing Left To Say
I'm Tired Of It
by Tony Bogyo
December 13, 2005

In the past five years of watching Buffalo Bills football and writing for Bills Daily I’ve seen some pretty ugly things. I’ve been treated to many games I thought were the low point of the season only to be proved wrong in a subsequent week. It’s getting really hard to write new and/or witty things about the performance of the Bills, both on and off the field. Perhaps I take it harder than other writers - after all, I am merely a fan voicing his opinion for free, not some salaried and credentialed journalist whose job it is to write.

In any event, I have nothing left to say, and no witty way to say it. It is time to vent; time to write what I really want to shout from an open window; time to get some things off my chest in the hopes I will feel even a little bit better.

    1. I am tired of watching the Bills lose
    2. I am tired of losing close, heartbreaking games in the final seconds
    3. I am tired of being dominated by other teams from start to finish
    4. I am tired of losing to teams we should beat
    5. I am tired of watching the Bills find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory each and every week
    6. I am tired of watching a team with the killer instinct of a Teletubby
    7. I am tired of watching an offensive line that can’t run block
    8. I am tired of watching an offensive line that can’t pass block
    9. I am tired of having rotating band of underachievers and rejects serve as our offensive line season after season
    10. I am tired of continually shuffling the personnel and positions on the offensive line every few weeks to maximize the “talent” we have
    11. I am tired of thinking about what a bust Mike Williams is
    12. I am tired of always having our tight end stay in to block and still having a terrible line (when was the last time a tight end caught a pass?)
    13. I am tired of going 3 and out
    14. I am tired of coming out of the red zone empty handed
    15. I am tired of having an inconsistent field goal kicker
    16. I am tired of penalties
    17. I am tired of drafting great college receivers who can’t play in the NFL
    18. I am tired of inaccurate throws and one-hoppers
    19. I am tired of dropped balls
    20. I am tired of having a 2.0 yards per carry average
    21. I am tired of running backs who think they are light years better than they actually are
    22. I am tired game plans that give our running back single digit carries
    23. I am tired of always having our third down back on the field in every third down situation because, well, it’s third down!
    24. I am tired of throwing the ball when we should be running it
    25. I am tired of running the ball when we should be throwing it
    26. I am tired of gadget plays
    27. I am tired of the coaching staff over thinking the game plan
    28. I am tired of the coaching staff trying to out think coaches much better than themselves
    29. I am tired of our coaching staff being in way over their heads
    30. I am tired of a coaching staff that never makes any halftime adjustments
    31. I am tired of the coaching staff having no common sense on who to play and who to sit
    32. I am tired of game plans that don’t take into account the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents
    33. I am tired of the coaching staff having no control of the team
    34. I am tired of the coaching staff
    35. I am tired of the hearing about the “#2 defense” but watching the #26 defense actually play
    36. I am tired of watching the defense continually give up third down conversions, no matter the yardage needed
    37. I am tired of giving up plays more than 15 yards
    38. I am tired of the Bills making average players look like first ballot hall of famers
    39. I am tired of being unable to stop the run
    40. I am tired of unending blitzes that don’t get to the quarterback
    41. I am tired of seeing Sam Adams on the bench in key situations
    42. I am tired of hearing what a lock down corner Nate Clemments is
    43. I am tired of hearing what a playmaker Nate Clemments is
    44. I am tired of hearing Nate Clemments talk about how he deserves top corner money
    45. I am tired of thinking about who the Bills thought was going to take the place of Pat Williams
    46. I am tired of drafting mediocre defensive linemen
    47. I am tired of waiting for Jeff Posey to become the impact linebacker Tom Donahoe obtained mere minutes after he hit the market (good thing nobody beat us to signing him)
    48. I am tired of paying big money to big name guys who aren’t nearly what they used to be
    49. I am tired of watching former Bills, released because they were no longer in their prime, have good success for other team
    50. I am tired of listening to how it was all Bledsoe’s fault
    51. I am tired of hiring inexperienced coaches because they interview well and will work cheap
    52. I am tired of mediocre safety play
    53. I am tired of listening to Tom Donahoe spin weekly losses to the fans and the media
    54. I am tired of hearing how “disappointed” the Bills are in the current situation (if this is “disappointment” I don’t even want to see how bad things get before we see “despair”)
    55. I am tired of the word “execution” in the context of “successfully conducting” rather than in the context of “to put to death”
    56. I am tired of waiting for Tom Donahoe and Mike Mularkey to be fired
    57. I am tired of the poor talent evaluation the Bills have had for the last few years
    58. I am tired of listening to a coach without passion
    59. I am tired of watching Bills players smile and joke after a devastating loss
    60. I am tired of waiting for the Bills to play with some heart and fire
    61. I am tired of watching other NFL teams, even the Bengals, hire good coaches, draft some good players and become good teams
    62. I am tired of not making the playoffs
    63. I am tired of being told that the Bills are close to being a playoff team
    64. I am tired of thinking about how much rebuilding the Bills need to do to be successful
    65. I am tired of the manner in which the Bills part ways with their great players from previous years
    66. I am tired of thinking about how much dead cap money the Bills will have next season
    67. I am tired of waiting for the 2006 NFL draft
    68. I am tired of worrying about which complete bust the Bills will draft and pay highly for next year
    69. I am tired of thinking about hell Drew Rosenhaus will create before next season on behalf of his client, Willis McGahee
    70. I am tired of thinking of the last time the Bills were a good team – OVER A DECADE AGO
    71. I am tired of living amongst patronizing Pats fans
    72. I am tired of looking like an idiot for supporting the Bills and wearing Bills clothes
    73. I am tired of caring about a team that doesn’t care about me
    74. I am tired of writing this list
    75. I am tired of the Buffalo Bills
