Week 1: Offense Pathetic In 15-10 Loss To Dolphins
Here are our position by position grades: Trent Edwards was awful in this game except on his one touchdown scoring drive. He finished just 18 of 34 for 139 yards. C.J. Spiller couldn't get anything going in his NFL debut gaining just six yards on the ground and eight receiving. Lee Evans couldn't pull in one pass he should have caught. Finished with four catches for 34 yards. Demetrius Bell played more reps then expected and performed ok. Kyle Williams was very busy with seven tackles and a QB hit. Did a nice job clogging up the middle to shutdown the running game. Paul Posluszny had a huge game with eight tackles, a sack, two QB hits. Still needs to get better in pass coverage if he's not out too long with his injury. Terrence McGee did a good job keeping Brandon Marshall at bay. Brian Moorman was a busy man, punting seven times for a 42.6 yard avg but only one inside the 20. Chan Gailey had an interesting offensive gameplan using multiple backs but it was not successful.
It looked like last year's Bills as the defense kept the game close.

Grade F: Looked like the same old Edwards.
Fred Jackson was used a lot more than expected especially on third downs and as the ball carrier in the wildcat. He had four carries for 19 yards to lead the team and two short catches for no gain.
Marshawn Lynch had three carries for 13 yards but seemed to bring energy to the offense in the second quarter.
Corey McIntyre had a big penalty against him.
Grade F: The best unit on offense failed miserably.
Steve Johnson led the team with 40 yards receiving on just three catches.
Roscoe Parrish didn't do much until his 31 yard touchdown reception.
David Nelson had three catches for 22 yards but had a long gainer called back by penalty.
Grade D-: Tight ends were invisible.
Andy Levitre was called for a big penalty.
Cornell Green also was called for a penalty and did a week job in pass protection.
Grade F: Looks like another long year from this unit. Nothing going passing or running.
Marcus Stroud also had seven tackles including a tackle in the backfield.
Dwan Edwards had four tackles including one for a loss.
Spencer Johnson had three tackles.
Torell Troup had an assist.
Grade B: Held Miami to less than four yards a carry.
Andra Davis was in on eight tackles.
Chris Kelsay performed well in his new role as he was in on seven tackles.
Bryan Scott played some linebacker because of injuries and had a huge sack.
Aaron Maybin did have a QB pressure but didn't do much else.
Chris Ellis put a lot of pressure on Henne and had a sack and two QB hits.
Keith Ellison had six tackles playing a lot when Posluszny went out.
Grade B+: Not a bad game from this much maligned unit.
Drayton Florence led the way with 10 tackles as they threw his way a lot.
Leodis McKelvin had two nice plays in coverage late in the game.
Jairus Byrd did not start and was a non factor.
Donte Whitner was in on nine tackles but out of position on some plays.
George Wilson got the start and was in on five tackles.
Grade A: The passing game of Miami was not a factor in the game.
Rian Lindell hit a nice 51 yard field goal and his extra point. Missed a 63 yarder that was only a few yards too short.
Roscoe Parrish averaged 10 yards on his three punt returns.
C.J. Spiller was only able to return one kickoff for just 11 yards.
Grade B: No problems with coverage units allowing a 4.5 yard avg. on punts and just 13.5 yards on kicks.
George Edwards made the halftime adjustments as his unit played very well in the second half.
Bruce DeHaven did a nice job getting his unit ready after a shaky preseason. Coverage units did well.
Grade B: Not an awful outing but safety call was controversial. I don't think it mattered either way.
