Here are our position by position grades:
Quarterback:EJ Manuel made some nice deep throws in this game and managed the game perfectly as he had his best game of his young career. He finished 20 of 28 for 245 yards and two scores with no interceptions for a whopping 121.9 QB rating.
Grade A: Something to build on.
C.J. Spiller has hit rock bottom with his 13 carries for just six measly yards. He was lost out there.
Fred Jackson ran a bit better but struggled against the Jets top ranked run defense. He had 34 yards on 12 carries.
Tashard Choice got just one yard on two late carries.
Frank Summers got his first NFL touchdown on a three yard run.
Grade D-: They won despite this unit.
T.J. Graham was first heard from when he was called for a false start but he quickly made amends for that. He had a 34 yard touchdown reception where he did a nice job coming back for the ball and then running it in for the score. He also had a beautiful 40 yard catch down the sideline.
Marquise Goodwin was targeted 9 times and caught six of them for 81 yards including the 43 yard touchdown catch.
Chris Hogan he had three catches for 29 yards including a big third down conversion.
Scott Chandler caught two passes for 40 yards including a big 31 yarder in the fourth quarter to allow the Bills to run some clock. He couldn't haul in a pass a little offline when he was wide open.
Lee Smith got called for a false start penalty on 3rd and 1. Bills ended up punting.
Grade B: Nice work by the young guys stepping up with the top two guys out.
Eric Wood opened up a hole on Summers TD.
Doug Legursky did a nice job holding down Wilkerson.
Kraig Urbik was also involved in opening up the hole for Summers TD.
Grade A: They kept the pressure off of Manuel.
Mario Williams was in on a tackle for a five yard loss than knocked down a pass stopping the Jets first drive.
Marcell Dareus came from the end position to deliver a big hit on Geno Smith knocking him out of the game for one play on the Jets first drive. He then got pressure to force an incompletion and a punt later in the same drive.
Kyle Williams got two sacks in the first half including a strip sack that setup the Bills second touchdown. He now has a career high 7 sacks on the season.
Jerry Hughes got a pressure to force an incompletion.
Alan Branch was called for a costly block in the back penalty on Byrd's interception return. Instead of taking over at the Jets 5 they were pushed back to the 27.
Grade A: Got good pressure and there were few holes in the running game until Ivory broke a 69 yard run late.
Manny Lawson was in on a tackle for a five yard loss on the first series. He recovered a fumble at the Jets 3 late in the second quarter. He had a sack and a pressure on the Jets opening third quarter drive.
Kiko Alonso made a nice open field tackle to force a Jets punt deep in their own territory in the first quarter. He snuffed out a screen pass forcing Smith to hold it for a sack. Had a nice open field tackle keeping a screen pass out of the end zone. He then brought the fullback down for a one yard gain on a screen pass. He led the way with 13 tackles.
Arthur Moats was active early with two tackles.
Grade A: Did a great job containing what the Jets were doing offensively.
Jairus Byrd blitzed untouched and got a sack on a 3rd and 3 play to force a 2nd quarter punt. He then intercepted a pass late in the first half and another one in the third quarter. He now has three picks in the last two games. He also had four tackles.
Stephon Gilmore was beaten badly on a 33 yard pass to Santonio Holmes but broke up another deep pass and played better after that play.
Leodis McKelvin had a nice pass breakup to force a third quarter punt. He was good in coverage all day
Nickell Robey helped Kyle Williams on a first quarter sack. Did a nice job protecting the middle of the field as he was good in coverage in this game.
Aaron Williams had an eventful series in the third quarter. He was beaten by Kellen Winslow for a 17 yard completion then came back and broke up a pass two plays later. He then got called for defensive holding on the next play. He had 10 tackles in the game.
Da'Norris Searcy was quiet until he picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown on one of the few plays the Bills had six defensive backs on the field.
Grade A: The Jets had no success in the passing game when the game was remotely close.
Brian Moorman battled the swirling winds and had his 2nd punt go out of bounds at the 6 yard line. He then dropped a punt and quickly took off running before punting it one yard. He had time to punt it when he picked it back up.
Dan Carpenter hit field goals from 40,42, and 43 yards out with those winds. You almost forget he played most of his career in Miami.
Leodis McKelvin had four punt returns for just 17 yards.
Marquise Goodwin returned one kickoff for 26 yards.
Coverage Units Penalties killed them here. Ron Brooks and Frank Summers were called for block in the back penalties in the first quarter. Brooks was called for failure to allow a returner to catch the ball. Cribbs averaged 23 yards on six kickoff returns and had a 16 yard punt return.
Grade D: Carpenter saved this unit.
Doug Marrone takes a hit as the penalty bug reared its ugly head. Three on special teams and one on an interception return hurt but give him huge props for the most complete win of his young career.
Nathaniel Hackett called plays on the field for the first time to help out the quarterback. He is now going to stay on the sidelines the rest of the year Marrone said.
Mike Pettine got the better of his mentor Rex Ryan in round two of their battle. The defense played inspired football.
Grade B: Special teams dropped this grade.
