Kyle Williams Signs Contract Extension

Whitner Getting Attention: About a month ago in an interview with the Sporting News, Donte Whitner was asked if he thought the Bills would make the playoffs, he then said he "guaranteed it". That quote has garnered national attention as the national media has been shocked that a young former first round pick could guarantee that the Bills would make the playoffs. Whitner was just showing confidence in his teammates and the fact that the team is really growing into a young, talented team. Dick Jauron was on Sirius Satellite Radio this weekend and said he has no problems with Whitner's comments. What do you think? Take our poll on our homepage and let us know what you think!

Toronto Promotion Continues: Members of the Jills along with Billy Buffalo and Brian Moorman headed to Toronto for another promotion of the Buffalo Toronto series. The pep rally took place in an affluent area of Toronto as the promotors try to drum up sales of the VIP tickets. Just about half of those tickets remain available and about 10% of the regular tickets remain on sale. Organizers say they are pleased with the sales but when the deal was announced it was thought the series would be an instant sellout. Having to buy multiple games and the high price of tickets have caused many people that signed up online to turn down a chance at tickets.

Night Practice Tickets Available: The Bills announced today that tickets to the first two night practices of training camp will be made available this Friday at 9am. Tickets are free although web fees may apply. The first two night practices are set for July 29th and 31st. Tickets are available from the team's website, ticketmaster outlets, and ticketmaster website.

Johnson Signs: The Bills now have all three of their seventh round picks under contract. They announced today that Steve Johnson has agreed to a deal. He is the fifth of the team's 10 draft picks to sign a contract. Still unsigned are the top three picks along with 5th round pick Alvin Bowen and sixth round pick Xavier Omon. Front Office Page.

Everett Golf Outing A Success: Kevin Everett held an auction on Sunday followed by a golf outing yesterday to raise money for spinal cord injury victims in Western New York. Despite making a miraculous recovery from his spinal cord injury, Everett was unable to play in his inaugural golf classic. He hopes to play in future years. In attendance for the outing were many sports starts including Jerome Bettis and Jim Kelly,

Williams Contract Details: If Jason Peters wasn't upset about his contract before, he may be more upset now after seeing the details of the contract extension signed by Kyle Williams yesterday. Williams had two years left on his deal but added three more and it is worth up to $14.4 Million. He is guaranteed $5.2 Million over the next two years. He received a roster bonus of $1.75 Million and will make a base salary of $700,000 this year. Which is a raise of more than a quarter of a million dollars from what he would have made in base pay this year. He will get another roster bonus in March for $1.5 Million. The new deal gives him a base salary of $12 Million over the next five years not including bonuses. Not bad for a marginal starter in his first two years. His agent said they were flattered when the Bills came to them a week ago looking to extend the contract saying these types of extensions aren't normally made. Do you think it's too much money for Williams? Take our poll on the homepage and let us know!

Williams Signs Extension: The Bills continue to lock up their younger up and coming players. A week after giving Brad Butler a contract extension, the team inked Kyle Williams to a contract extension. Williams has started for most of his two years since being drafted in the 5th round of the 2006 draft. He had two years left on his rookie contract. The team has made it a point in recent years to lock up young players instead of letting them hit the big day in free agency. It started with players like Terrence McGee and Jason Peters. The team is expected to try and lock up Lee Evans before the season starts. Peters is also looking for a new deal.

Viti Released: The Bills announced yesterday that they have released FB Mike Viti. The Army product looked the part of an NFL fullback but he was buried on the depth chart and didn't get many reps in mini camp. Front Office Page.

Bell Signs: The Bills have signed seventh round pick Demetrius Bell. He becomes the fourth of the team's 10 draft picks to sign. As is customary terms of the deal were not disclosed.
