Bills Get Two Looks At Clausen
Lynch Rumors Swirl: Rumors continue to swirl that the Bills are indeed trying to trade Marshawn Lynch. He has yet to show up for the offseason conditioning program and the talk in the locker room is that he wants out. Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey have publicly supported Lynch saying it's a clean slate if he wants to stay in Buffalo. Behind the scenes rumors say they are actively trying to trade him and would like a player in return since they know they will not get fair market value in draft picks for him.

Bills Get Look At Clausen: Mel Kiper said this week that the Bills aren't interested in Jimmy Clausen but their actions show they are at least doing their due diligence. Buddy Nix was in attendance at Clausen's pro day yesterday where he completed all but two passes and by all acounts looked very impressive. Clausen said he would be in Orchard Park today to have a visit with the Bills. There is a good chance Clausen will be available at number nine for the Bills now that Donovan McNabb is in Washington. Kiper has said sources tell him the Bills don't want Clausen. Seattle or Oakland are the two teams ahead of the Bills in the draft that may be interested in Clausen but they both supposedly have their QBs of the future.

Schouman Signs Tender: Derek Schouman became the latest restricted free agent to sign his tender with the team. Schouman's tender was for $1.684 million and would have given the team 2nd round compensation if he signed elsewhere and the team did not match the offer. Schouman missed most of last season after suffering a knee injury week 2.

Kiper Feels Bills Stay At OT: Mel Kiper spoke on a conference call and told reporters he thinks the Bills should take Jimmy Clausen with the ninth pick of the draft. He doesn't think they will however, he expects them to take OT Bryan Bulaga. Offensive tackle is as big a need as quarterback. Kiper does think they will take Tim Tebow in round two. The draft starts two weeks from today. Look out for our draft page launching next week!

Bills Sign RB: The Bills have signed RB Walter Mendenhall. He is the older brother of Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall. Walter was an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State after having his scholarship pulled at Illinois. He was signed by the Eagles shortly after the 2009 draft and also spent time with the Colts last year in training camp. He gives the Bills three backs on the depth chart. Front Office Page.
Could Clausen Be The Guy? With Donovan McNabb out of the way and the Bills still needing to add a quarterback they could turn to the draft to fill that need. While a trade for Jason Campbell remains a possibility their now seems to be a good chance that Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen falls to the Bills with the ninth pick in the draft. The question becomes do they take him or stick with the plan of taking one of the top four offensive tackles in the draft assuming one of them are still available? Early reports from our homepage poll say they should take a quarterback in round 2. We will be launching our draft page within the next week so look out for it!

Bills Interested in Campbell? It didn't take long for rumors to circulate about potential interest in Jason Campbell now that he is out at the top QB in Washington. He's technically a restricted free agent with a first round tender but it's much more likely a team will make a trade with the Redskins so they don't have to give up a first round pick. The Bills, Jaguars, Raiders, and Panthers have already been mentioned as potential landing spots. What do you think the Bills should do? Take our poll on our homepage and let us know!
Bills Made Bid: Several reports swirling around indicate the Bills did make a strong big to land Donovan McNabb before he was traded to Washington last night. Reports say that both the Bills and the Raiders made bigger offers last week and the Bills even tried to get McNabb to agree to an extension. He would not since he didn't want to go to Buffalo and that apparently stopped the Bills from trying further to make a deal.
