Rookie Minicamp Highlights 2 Weeks Of Workouts

Two More Picks Signed: The Bills got two more of their draft picks under contract on Thursday by agreeing to terms with 3rd round pick John Miller and 5th round pick Karlos Williams. They join 6th round pick Nick O'Leary and 7th round pick Dezmin Lewis as signed members of the draft class. 2nd round pick Ronald Darby and 6th round pick Tony Steward are still unsigned. Bills Add FB: Rex Ryan brought back another member from his old Jets team as the team added another fullback signing the terminator, John Connor. The team made room for Connor by releasing fullback Corey Knox. Connor is a solid blocking fullback that Ryan likely sees as a nice complement for big free agent signee Jermone Felton, he can also be used with Felton in the jumbo package. He palyed for the Jets from 2010-2012 and then again last year. If the Bills do keep both fullbacks it may mean trouble for the halfbacks as they may only keep three at the very loaded position. The signing will not cost the Bills in the formula that computes compensation picks since that deadline was yesterday. Depth Chart.

Deflategate From Patriots Land: Most loyal readers of Bills Daily knows that our columnist Tony Bogyo lives in the Boston area. He is about ready to tear his hair out with all the talk about how the poor Patriots are being treated by the big bad NFL in the deflategate scandal. Instead of tearing out his hair he wrote an article, check it out. Complete Story.

Last 2 Picks Signed: The Bills have announced the signing of their last two draft picks as 6th round pick Nick O'Leary and 7th round pick Dezmin Lewis are now under contracts. That leaves the top four picks left to sign.

Bills Add Tryout Safety: The Bills got back up to the 90 man maximum on the roster by signing one of the players who were at the rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The team signed UTEP safety Wes Miller. He had 74 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 6 pass breakups last year in college. He took the roster spot of the previously announced signing of OT Jermaine Barton. It never happened after he failed his physical. Depth Chart.

Rookie Camp Over: The Bills wrapped up a three day rookie minicamp where the drafted players, undrafted free agents, tryout players, and 1st year players all got a chance to make an impression on the coaching staff with on the field workouts. The Bills have an open roster spot if they decide to sign one of the tryout players. The previously announced signing of OT Jermaine Barton never happened after he failed his physical. According to some twitter accounts from media members at the camp top draft pick Ronald Darby looked like he was the head of the draft class showing off his talent. 6th round pick Nick O'Leary also looked solid. They couldn't really run any plays with just four offensive linemen in the camp after they didn't sign Barton. The second phase of the offseason conditioning program for all players resumes today and runs through Thursday this week. Front Office Page.

Variable Pricing: The Bills once again will have variable pricing for individual game tickets for the coming season. The gold priced games will be for half of the home games. The first three home games against Indianapolis, New England, and the Giants are gold along with the December game against the Cowboys. The games against Cincinnati and Miami are silver games while the Texans and Jets December matchups are bronze games. The two home preseason games against Carolina and Pittsburgh will have their own pricing structure. Special individual game and group ticket presales dedicated to season ticket members will take place in early June. Whatever tickets are left after that should go on sale in early July. With a possible record number of season ticket holders this year individual game tickets will be very limited.

Rookie Minicamp Begins: The Bills begin their rookie minicamp today as the players arrived yesterday to check in, get their equipment, and physicals. The camp consists of their six draft picks, 13 undrafted free agents, 9 1st year players, and 11 tryout players. That makes 39 players in all taking part in the minicamp that runs through Sunday. The tryout players includes three players from Syracuse, RB Prince-Tyson Gulley, S Darius Kelly and long snapper Sam Rodgers. The lone quarterback in the camp is West Georgia QB Austin Trainor. He transferred from Florida A&M to the division II school. The other seven tryout players are WRs Anthony Davis and EJ Scott, RB Roderick McDowell, CBs CB Wes Miller and Reggie Owen, LB TraVaughn Pascal, and S Julius White. Front Office Page.

Draft Fills Depth Needs: The Bills had a quiet draft as expected and used all their six draft picks without making any moves. They used those picks on the best available player without having to draft for need. Only about half the draft class should have an immediate impact on gameday in 2015 while the rest will have trouble making the team and if they do they will have to make impact on special teams. Complete Story.

Ryan Meets With Collins: Several reports say Rex Ryan met with La'el Collins in Louisiana last night. Collins has first round talent but fell out of the draft altogether thanks to a murder investigation. He met with prosecutors on Monday and is still not considered a suspect which has several teams interested getting a steal of an undrafted free agent if it comes out he had no involvement in the murder of his ex-girlfriend and her son. Reports say the Bills and Dolphins are the first two teams meeting with him but almost every other team has also shown interest. Collins' agent was not at the dinner meeting with Ryan.

Monday May 4, 2015

13 Undrafted Free Agents Signed: The Bills have signed 13 undrafted free agents leaving two open roster spots on the 90 man squad. Among the signings was two offensive tackles, two cornerbacks, and a punter to go along with four defensive linemen as they add depth for the offseason workouts and training camp where they were short numbers. Depth Chart.

Carrington Signed: It's a blast from the past at One Bills Drive today as free agent DT Alex Carrington signed with the team after coming to town for a visit. He was with the Bills from 2009 to 2013 before an injury derailed his career in Buffalo. He played in 44 games totaling 33 tackles and four sacks. He played the 5-technique under Mike Pettine's defense two years ago and the team needs depth along the line. Depth Chart

Back To Work: The Bills are back to work this week as they begin phase II of the offseason conditioning program today and this week's workouts run through Thursday. That is followed by a rookie minicamp this weekend starting on Friday. In phase II the coaches are allowed on the field as individual instruction and drills are allowed now. Workouts remain voluntary and players cannot wear helmets and no one on one drills are allowed.
