Week 13: Bills vs. Jaguars
at

The Bills limp home for the first of five December games that will mean absolutely nothing after the loss to the Colts last Sunday. It means nothing for the Jaguars either who have struggled under former Bills coach Mike Mularkey.

INJURY UPDATE

The Bills will be without Mark Anderson again with his knee injury. Chris Kelsay is out with a neck injury. They will likely get Aaron Williams back after missing three games with a knee injury. Corey McIntyre left last week's game early with an ankle injury but he will likely play.

The Jaguars are without star RB Maurice Jones-Drew who remains sidelined with a foot injury. One of his backups Greg Jones missed last week's game with a thigh injury but will likely play. Starting QB Blaine Gabbert is on injured reserve so former Dolphin Chad Henne is the quarterback. The Jaguars top two wide receivers both got hurt during practice on Wednesday. Justin Blackmon hurt his groin while Cecil Shorts suffered a hamstring injury. Both sat out practice on Thursday but returned to the field on Friday and will likely play. DB Derek Cox, DT Tyson Alualu, DE Austen Lane, and C Brad Meester have also missed practice time this week with various injuries.

Check out our Bills Daily Injury Page throughout the week for the latest updates on the injured players.

KEY MATCHUPS

RB C.J. Spiller vs. LB Paul Posluszny:
Spiller needs to get the rock as often as possible and he will have to watch out for the former Bill who will be looking for a big day back at his old stomping grounds. Poz has 92 tackles on the season.

DB Stephon Gilmore vs. WR Justin Blackmon:
This is an intriguing battle of rookie first round picks. Both players are coming into their own but Blackmon missed some practice time this week with a groin injury. He had 236 yards receiving two weeks ago and Gilmore may be on his way to becoming a lockdown corner.

DE Mario Williams vs. RT Cameron Bradfield:
Super Mario has lived up to his nickname the past few weeks as he is playing much better since his bye week wrist surgery. He goes against another young tackle in the second year player from Grand Valley State who will be making his 12th career start.

WR Stevie Johnson vs. CB Rashean Mathis:
With his fellow corner Cox banged up the 10 year veteran Mathis will likely line up against Johnson who is coming off his best game of the year.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. The Mularkey Matchup: One of the few interesting sidebars with this game is the return of Mike Mularkey to Buffalo. Chan Gailey must win this coaching battle with better play calling or else fans will get even more depressed about the current state of the team.
2. Don't Let Babin Be A Factor: Due to a worse record, the Jaguars beat out the Bills to get DE Jason Babin off of waivers from the Eagles. The Bills put in a claim but he was awarded to Jacksonville. Mularkey says he will play. Can he be a factor with just a couple of days of practice with his new team?
3. Give Spiller The Ball!: If Spiller doesn't touch the ball at least 20 times than Gailey is just too stubborn to do what works.

BILLS DAILY PREDICTION

The Bills should be able to win this game. I expect them to win a few down the stretch thanks to a soft schedule. Of course that will make their record just good enough to ruin their chances of getting a top quarterback in the draft. The Jaguars are one of the worst teams in the league so there is no reason for the Bills to lose this one at home. Look for them to win rather handily:
Bills 38, Jaguars 23

Season Prediction Record: (7-4)
Season Record Against The Spread: (5-6)
