Week 15: Bills vs. Packers
at
Sunday, Dec. 14th
1:00pm ET
|
Another week, another surefire hall of fame QB lining up on the other side of the ball, this time it's Aaron Rodgers. The Bills have a rare matchup with the Green Bay Packers at Ralph Wilson Stadium. If history matters, and it doesn't, the Bills should be able to pull off the upset since Green Bay has never won in their five previous trips to Western New York.

INJURY UPDATE
The Bills are still without Chris Gragg with a knee injury but did get Jairus Wynn back on the practice field this week after missing over a month with a knee injury. It is unknown yet if he will be ready to return for this game. Da'Norris Searcy suffered a hamstring injury against Denver and has missed practice time this week.
The Packers have a couple of players who have missed practice time this week. CB Davon House has a shoulder injury and LB Jamari Lattimore is suffering from an ankle injury. RB Eddie Lacy is slowed by a hip injury but is expected to play Sunday.
Check out our Bills Daily Injury Page throughout the week for the latest updates on the injured players.
KEY MATCHUPS
CBs Stephon Gilmore and Corey Graham vs. WRs Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb: It's another huge matchup for the Bills corners coming off a great performance against the Broncos passing game. Nelson and Cobb bring another huge challenge as they have combined for 147 catches for 2,245 yards.
WR Sammy Watkins vs. CB Tramon Williams: Watkins needs another big game for the offense to even attempt to keep pace with the high powered Packers offense. Williams is a solid and dependable eight year veteran.
DE Jerry Hughes vs. LT David Bakhtiari: Hughes will be out for blood after getting benched last week after a stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Badkhtiari is a two year starter with tremendous upside.
RT Seantrel Henderson vs. OLB Clay Matthews: Henderson has been much better as of late and goes up against the Packers sack leader in Matthews. Henderson needs to keep him from getting too much heat on Kyle Orton.
KEYS TO THE GAME
1. Loud Home Crowd: Rodgers won't get rattled by crowd noise but it may throw off what he does best and that is slowing down a pass rush with his cadence. If he can't do that, the Bills talented defensive line may be able to tee off and get pressure on him forcing possible mistakes.
2. Be Disciplined: Penalties have killed the Bills all year they can't give up yardage against a team like Green Bay and expect to win.
3. Red Zone Efficiency: Another bugaboo this year has been the offensive production in the red zone. It has been offensive to say the least. To beat the Packers they need a bunch of touchdowns not field goals.
BILLS DAILY PREDICTION
The Bills need to win their last three games for any realistic chance of breaking their playoff drought. It starts with playing one of the best teams in the league for a second week in a row. This time they get the elite team at home combine that with the desperation factor and I think the Bills pull off the upset but it will take a complete team effort to get the job done:
Bills 26, Packers 24
