Week 8: Bills vs. Jets
at
Sunday, Oct. 26th
1:00pm ET
The Bills face a big divisional battle at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. The Jets have only one win this year but that goes out the window this week as the Bills have traditionally struggled against New York. They have not won in New Jersey since the 2009 season which means they have never won at Met Life Stadium.

INJURY UPDATE

The Bills are banged up in the backfield as they have lost C.J. Spiller for the season with a broken collar bone last week against Minnesota and Fred Jackson with a groin injury. Marcus Easley may miss his fourth game with a sprained MCL but he did return to practice this week. Ty Powell continues to be out with an ankle injury. Aaron Williams is battling a neck injury that caused him to leave last week's game early but is practicing this week.

The Jets come into this game pretty healthy with just OLB Trevor Reilly sidelined with a knee injury.

Check out our Bills Daily Injury Page throughout the week for the latest updates on the injured players.

KEY MATCHUPS

LT Cordy Glenn vs. DE Muhammed Wilkerson:
Glenn has struggled in recent weeks and goes against Wilkerson who has 4 sacks on the season.

WR Sammy Watkins vs. CB Darrin Walls:
Watkins is really coming into his own and should be able to do some good things against a weak Jets defensive backfield. Walls will be the guy lining up against Watkins the most.

Bills Coverage Units vs. KT/PT Percy Harvin:
The Jets will be looking to take their shiny new toy out for a spin and Harvin's best chance for an impact will be as a returner.

DT Marcell Dareus vs. C Nick Mangold:
Dareus is off to a pro bowl season as he is having his best year to date. He's second in the league in sacks and lines up against another all pro in Mangold.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Protect Orton: If he has time to throw he will pick apart the Jets secondary. That is a big if though as the Jets front four should dominate the Bills weak offensive line that may get a bit of a boost with Kraig Urbik moving into the starting lineup at left guard.
2. Rattle Smith: This may be a battle which team's front four on defense dominates more. The Bills lead the league in sacks and if they get to Geno Smith early and often it may be a long day offensively for New York.
3. Big Week Of YAC Yards: There should be room to roam once the Bills get the ball into the hands of Watkins and the running backs in space. Look for short passes on slants and bubble screens that can go for big gainers.

BILLS DAILY PREDICTION

This is a real tough matchup to call. The Bills are trending up while the Jets have been abysmal most of the year. They did play very well in New England last week and have had an extra three days to prepare for a team they beat an awful lot. The Bills won despite not playing well last week and I don't think they will pull out a close game this week:
Jets 16, Bills 14

Season Prediction Record: (2-5)
Season Record Against The Spread: (1-6)
