INJURY UPDATE
The Bills will be without Stephon Gilmore in this game as he has a shoulder injury. John Miller is back practicing but may miss another week with his high ankle sprain. Nigel Bradham should be sidelined another week. Ron Brooks and Tony Steward got injured last week and may miss this game as well. The team is hoping to get Karlos Williams and Seantrel Henderson back. Williams is not practicing so may miss another week.
The Eagles have DT Bennie Logan sidelined this week with a knee injury and RB Ryan Matthews has been limited with a concussion and a groin injury.
Check out our Bills Daily Injury Page throughout the week for the latest updates on the injured players.
KEY MATCHUPS
RB LeSean McCoy vs. LB Kiko Alonso and HC Chip Kelly: McCoy has been ready for this game all week. He definitely wants to stick it to his former head coach who feels did him wrong by trading him. He will also go head to head with the man he was traded for. Alonso has had an injury filled season but he's healthy now and everyone in Buffalo knows he's a tackle machine when he's healthy.
WR Sammy Watkins vs. DB Jaylen Watkins and DB Byron Maxwell: Sammy's younger brother is a backup but it will be fun to see them go one on one a few times. He will more than likely lineup against the fifth year pro Maxwell on most snaps. He has two interceptions in his first year with Philly.
DE Jerry Hughes vs. LT Jason Peters: Hughes will likely lineup on the right side on most downs which means he will go up against a former Bill in Peters. He has been playing at a Pro Bowl level ever since leaving Buffalo after the 2008 season.
CB Ronald Darby vs. WR Jordan Matthews: With Gilmore sidelined the defensive rookie of the year candidate will be the number one corner for the Bills on Sunday. He will have to watch out for the Eagles leading receiver Matthews who has 61 catches on the season.
KEYS TO THE GAME
1. Keep Emotions In Check: McCoy has been fired up for this game for a long time and needs to keep his emotions under control so he doesn't make any mental errors that will cost his team.
2. Make Halftime Adjustments: The third quarter of games have been the worst for the Bills this season. They need to make the proper adjustments in the locker room so they don't find themselves trailing entering the fourth quarter.
3. Win Special Teams Battle: The Eagles scored two touchdowns on special teams in beating the Patriots. The Bills have struggled all season with this unit and have yet to make a big play with them. If they can win this battle that will go a long way towards winning the game.
BILLS DAILY PREDICTION
This is a tough matchup as both teams need a win to help their playoff chances. The Bills are a more talented team on paper so I think they will find a way to pull out the victory:
Bills 31, Eagles 24
Season Prediction Record: (7-5)
Season Record Against The Spread: (6-6)
