Bills Lose Another Heartbreaker In Music City Game Not As Close As Score: It may have been a two point loss but the Bills did not play well in any phase of the game. The offense couldn't convert third downs while the defense couldn't get off the field on third downs. The special teams gave up a few long returns to tilt the field in the Titans favor. It is surprising it was that close. Gameday Grades. Game Recap: The Bills playoff hopes came to an end in another devastating loss in Music City. Bobby Shaw lost control of a two point conversion catch when he tried to show the referees he caught the ball, causing the Bills to lose 28-26. The Titans dominated the game statistically but the Bills actually held a 17-6 lead early in the third quarter. They fell behind 28-20 before Drew Bledsoe led the Bills on a 81 yard touchdown drive with no timeouts left only to fall short on the gaffe by Shaw. Game Review. McNair Active: The Titans have decided to activate QB Steve McNair after worked out this morning for about 15 minutes. What isn't decided, is whether or not he'll start, that decision will not be made until right before kickoff. Gameday Weather: The weatehr in Nashville for today's game will be tranquil compared to the snowy Northeast. The game time high temperature should top out at about 41° with cloudy skies. Winds will be light at about 8 mph. There is only a 10% chance at rain. Saturday December 13, 2003 McGahee Not Active: Willis McGahee continues to take some snaps with the offense this week but it is unlikely he will be activated on Sunday against the Titans. Coach Williams said he "wouldn't go out on a limb, and say that he'll play." Look for the Bills to try and get McGahee some snaps in the final two games, especially if the Bills are eliminated from playoff contention. McNair A Game Time Decision: Titans coach Jeff Fisher said that QB Steve McNair will be a game time decision tomorrow. He has not practiced all week with broken bone spurs in his ankle. He had the cast taken off Thursday but continues to walk around with a protective boot on. His swelling has gone down some and the amount it goes down between now and game time will decide if he can go or not. If he can't, four year pro Billy Volek would make his first career start. Friday December 12, 2003 Bills Healthy: The Bills are getting healthy. They have five players on the injury report but all but Dave Moore are expected to play. Moore was the lone player held out of practice today as he suffered a strained hamstring in practice this week. He is listed as questionable and is a game time decision. Eric Moulds returned to practice today after going home early yesterday with an illness. Thursday December 11, 2003 Two Added To Report: The Bills have added Eric Moulds and Dave Moore to the injury report. Moulds is probable with the flu and Moore has a leg injury and is questionable. Trey Teague and Travis Henry returned to practice today after being held out on Wednesday. Injury Report. Player Added: The Bills have filled the open spot on the practice squad. One day after losing Nick Maddox to the Browns, the Bills added WR Cedric Bonner. He spent the 2003 preseason with the Seahawks after signing with them as an undrafted free agent past spring. Snow Can't Stop Fans: There may have been a snow storm in the Northeast this past weekend and it slammed into Boston on Sunday. That didn't stop Bills fans from gathered during the major storm to watch the win over the Jets. Complete Story. Williams May Stay: As the Bills won their second straight game on Sunday, there is a growing sentiment, albeit small, that Gregg Williams may survive as the head coach of the Bills. Joe Chenelly takes a look at that angle as well as other tidbits surrounding the Bills this week. Complete Story. Wednesday December 10, 2003 Practice Notes: Mike Pucillo, Sammy Morris, and Keith McKenzie all returned to practice today. They are the three players listed on the injury report. Pucillo actually to snaps at center as Trey Teague was given the day off to rest his bumps and bruises. Eric Moulds and Travis Henry were also held out of practice to rest their injuries. Injury Report. Bills Lose Maddox: The banged up Cleveland Browns helped their depleted backfield by signing Nick Maddox off of the Bills practice squad. Maddox had been on the Bills taxi squad since November 26th. That leaves an open spot on the five man squad. Three Questionable: The Bills have three players on the injury report all are listed as questionable. Mike Pucillo is hoping to return to practice this week and has been upgraded from doubtful last week. He has a toe injury. Keith McKenzie is once again questionable with a quad strain. Sammy Morris has missed two games with a knee injury and is questionable again this week. Injury Report. Titans Tough: The Bills are riding high on a two game winning streak while the Titans are sure to be angry as they are on a two game losing streak. With the status of Steve McNair in question that may give the Bills an edge. Don't count on it though, McNair will play if at all possible and the Titans may be too much for the Bills. Game Preview. McNair Hurting: There is a chance the Titans will be without QB Steve McNair against the Bills Sunday. It was revealed yesterday that McNair has a cracked bone spur in his left ankle. Coach Jeff Fisher says that it is way too early to tell if he will play Sunday. McNair is the toughest QB in the league and always plays through injuries, so it is likely he will be in the lineup. Tuesday December 9, 2003 Where Was This Offense? Travis Henry dominated on offense while the defense came up big. This was the way it was suppose to be all year. This week's Bills Thunder report breaks down the win over the Jets. Complete Story. Monday December 8, 2003 Players Off: For the second straight week the players have been given Monday off. Coach Williams calls it "Victory Monday". The coaches will be working on the gameplan today for the Titans game but the players are getting a break thanks to all the Tuesdays they have come in despite it being their off day.
