Chiefs Embarrass Bills

Priest Holmes - AP PhotoBills Dominated In Loss: You could point to the seven turnovers. You could point to the failure to get points in the first quarter with excellent field position. You could point to the defense just laying down in the first half. It all adds up to pathetic play from the offense and defense. The only side of the ball that played well was special teams. Gameday Grades.

Chiefs Rout Bills 38-5: . The Chiefs totally dominated the Bills as they scored four first half touchdowns enroute to the 38-5 rout of the Bills. Drew Bledsoe threw three interceptions as the Bills turned it over seven times in this game. The Bills had great field position early but couldn't score. They got stuffed inside the 10 yard line twice while the Chiefs were moving the ball up and down the field. The totally domination and embarassment of the defeat will bring out the calls for a coaching change during the bye week. Complete Review.

Moulds Activated: Eric Moulds returned to the lineup tonight in Kansas City. He had missed two straight games with a slight groin tear. Sammy Morris also returned after missing nearly a month after underoing hernia surgery. Ron Edwards was inactive and missed his third straight game with a shoulder injury. Jonas Jennings was bothered by his hip flexor injury and missed most of the game. Injury Page.

Milloy Fined: Lawyer Milloy became the second Bills' defensive back in two weeks to be fined $25,000 by the league. He was fined for bumping an official against Washington. Izell Reese was fined last week for a similar infraction, he is appealing his fine.

Game Night Weather: It will be a clear and tranquil night in Kansas City tonight when the Bills battle the Chiefs. Gametime temperature should be around 43° with the temperature possibly dropping into the upper 30's. It will mostly clear with no precipitation and very little wind.

Moulds Practices: The Bills held a rare night practice to prepare for their night time battle with the Chiefs. Coach Williams called it the best practice of the week. It included Eric Moulds who worked out without any setbacks. He will be a gametime decison along with Sammy Morris. Ron Edwards, is unlikely to play due to his shoulder injury, he did not practice all week. Injury Report.

Friday October 24, 2003

Gash Added: The Bills added Sam Gash to the injury report yesterday. He is listed as probable with a nagging ankle injury. The same injury that landed him on the report last week. The Chiefs have added QB Trent Green to the report with a thigh injury but he will start.

Bills Give Bulletin Board Fodder: Pat Williams was a guest on Eric Moulds' show this week and guaranteed that Priest Holmes would be held to less than 50 yards on Sunday. Other players reacted by saying they like his confidence but those words will surely end up on the bulletin board in the Chiefs locker room this week.

Moulds Hurting: Eric Moulds said his injured groin was sore after practice today making his availability for Sunday's game even more questionable than thought. Early in the week he said he would be back this week but now that may not be the case. The Bills may not want to rush him back with the bye week coming up next week. Injury Report.

Johnson Visits: Former Bills WR Charles Johnson has been visiting the team this week helping the receivers out. He will travel with the team to Kansas City and is considering a career in coaching. It is unclear whether or not the team is going to offer him a job or not.

Fast Starts A Must: The head coach talks about it, the fans talk about it, now our own Tony Bogyo talks about it in his humorous way. The Bills have to get off to a fast start each week to be successful. That thought has never been more true then it will be this Sunday in Kansas City. Complete Story.

Wednesday October 22, 2003

Bills Add QB: The Bills made a practice squad move today adding QB Randy Fasani to the unit. The Bills confirmed the signing today, but he was actually added over the weekend. The Bills made room for him by releasing QB Brandon Doman from the practice squad. Fasani was a fifth round pick by Carolina in the 2002 draft and actually started one game for the Panthers last year. The Bills continue to look for a third QB option as they have had only two QBs on the roster all year.

Arrowhead Is Tough To Play: Coach Williams held his usual Wednesday media day press conference today. He talked about the reputation of Arrowhead Stadium being one of the toughest places to play in the league. The Coach said they will try to get a fast start to take the crowd out of the game a bit. The team needs to stop the Chiefs from capitalizing on turnovers, something they've done very well so far this year. Offensively, the coach said they need to shutdown the playmakers they have.

Moulds Expects To Play: Eric Moulds expects to play on Sunday after missing two games with a slight groin tear. He will practice today and is listed as questionable along with Sammy Morris who is practicing today and has come a long way they will see how today goes before deciding whether or not he will play on Sunday. Ron Edwards has missed two games with a shoulder injury and has been downgraded to doubtful. Mike Williams suffered a strained neck against the Redskins and is listed as probable for the Chiefs game, he will practice today and play on Sunday. Injury Report.

Williams Visits: The Bills had free agent tight end Roland Williams in town yesterday for a visit. The Rochester area native has been out of football while rehabilitating his surgically repaired knee. He has also visited Denver, Tampa Bay, and a few other teams.

Chiefs May Be Overdue: The Bills may face their toughest battle of the year this Sunday when the face the Chiefs in a primetime battle in Kansas City. The undefeated Chiefs may be overdue to pay the Bills and that may be Buffalo's best shot at an upset. Game Preview.

Tuesday October 21 2003

Struggling Players Key Win: Two struggling players came to life and led the Bills to a dominating win over the Redskins. The team used a sense of urgency to go along with a solid running game. That was the recipe for the victory. Complete Story.

Moulds Thinks He'll Play: Eric Moulds said he was real close to suiting up on Sunday against Washington but was worried about certain bump and run situations. He thinks that he will be able to go this week against Kansas City. With the bye week on the horizon, the team may decide to hold him out one more week so he can use the bye to totally get his groin healthy for the second half of the season. He worked out yesterday and was doing well along with Sammy Morris who is trying to return from hernia surgery. Injury Report.

Monday October 20, 2003

Reese Fined: CBS Sportsline is reporting that Izell Reese has been fined $25,000 for shoving an official during last week's Jets game. On a second quarter play Reese was trying to make a tackle when the umpire was in his way and he gave him a slight shove. The umpire fell to the ground. The report says the Bills are upset with the fine and Reese has begun the appeal process.

Thomas Moves Back Up? Last week the Bills moved Danion Sidney ahead of Kevin Thomas at the cornerback slot. This week it looks like Thomas moved back into his familiar role. He played well for the most part but did get beat for the Redskins lone score. Depth Chart.
