Business Operation Restructured
Coiner Expected To Join Team: The Buffalo News is reporting that the Bills are expected to name Charlie Coiner the new tight ends coach. This is an interesting move since Mike Miller is still listed as the tight end coach, he is a holdover from the Mularkey era that wasn't fired. Coiner is another hire from the Bears staff. He was hired by Jauron in Chicago in 2001 as the offensive quality control coach and spent three seasons there.
Jauron Expects No Problems: Dick Jauron told the Buffalo News he doesn't expect any problems with Marv Levy as the GM. It isn't in his contract to have control over the roster, which it was in Chicago and caused problems for him with the Bears. He said he is working very well with Levy and the GM brings a great coaching perspective to the table.
DQ Reversed For Moorman: The judges reversed the disqualification of Brian Moorman in the skills competition in the Pro Bowl. He originally was disqualified for deciding not to do the sled portion of the open field/obstacle course competition. They then changed it and gave him a :05 penalty instead. Even with the penalty Moorman finished in fourth place.

Moorman Disqualified: Brian Moorman participated in the open field competition at the Pro Bowl Skills competition today and was disqualified. He ran very well and made it through the hurdles and other obstacle course stuff quickly. He decided to totally blow off the sled since he is too small to push it. He thought it would be just a :05 penalty but they disqualified him instead.

Bills Promote Four: Ralph Wilson continued the restructuring of the business side of the team's operations. He promoted four executives to newly created vice president posts yesterday. Joe Frandina was named VP of stadium operations after serving as the director of stadium operations. Peter Guelli was promoted from executive director of corporate sales to VP of business development. Marc Honan is now the VP of marketing and broadcasting after serving as the executive director of marketing. David Wheat is now the VP of business operations and ticketing after serving as the director of ticket sales and service. Bill Munson gets a new title, he's now the VP of public affairs after being the VP/operations. Scott Berchtold remains with the title of VP of communications.

Coaches Needed: Dick Jauron still needs to add to his staff but offensive coordinator isn't one of them. A report in the Chicago Tribune on Monday said that John Schoop is being considered for the Bills offensive coordinator job. The paper didn't realize that the position was filled by Steve Fairchild. More likely Jauron is looking at Schoop for the open QB coach spot. Schoop holds that position with the Raiders and was interviewed for the head coaching position with Oakland. Schoop was the coordinator under Jauron in Chicago. Besides QB coach, Jauron said he needs a TE coach despite the fact that Mike Miller is still on the staff at this point and held that position last year. The coach would also like to add an offensive quality control coach and needs a LB coach after Johnnie Holland left a week after taking the job to go to the Texans.
