Byrd Rookie Of The Year? The AP has decided to cast a re-vote for NFL defensive rookie of the year because of the four game suspension incurred by the winner Brian Cushing. He violated the league's steriod policy. Jairus Byrd finished a very distant second place so instead of giving him the award there will be a re-vote and Cushing will be involved in the re-vote so he can still win the award.

Players Get Week Off: The rookie camp is now in the rearview mirror and all players have scattered and are off this week. The rookies are due back next Monday for voluntary workouts. The rookies are not allowed by the league to take their playbooks with them when they leave Buffalo but they are allowed to take their notes with them and study those. Gailey said it is not fruitful to start from scratch when they get back on the field so they need to stay in their notes so they can pick up where they left off. The veterans are expected to hit the field for voluntary workouts with the rookies on May 25th. Chan Gailey expects good attendance for the organized team activities.
