Defensive Prospects Visit One Bills Drive

Miller Leads Our Fan Poll: It appears many Bills fans want to see the team pick Von Miller with the third pick of the draft. We put a poll on our homepage last week asking who you think the Bills should draft with the third overall pick. As of this morning, with over 1,000 votes cast, Miller led the way with 36% of the vote. Defense had the overwhelming majority as Marcellus Dareus was picked by 28% of the voters. Cam Newton was a distant third with 11% and Blaine Gabbert next at 8%. The poll is still open cast your vote on the homepage.

Reed To Announce Bills First Pick: Andre Reed announced on his twitter account yesterday that he will be announcing the Bills first pick at Radio City Music Hall during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night April 28th.

Ballard, Carter Visit: The Bills continued to look exclusively at defensive players this week with two more visits to Orchard Park today. DE Christian Ballard and LB Bruce Carter were in town. The Bills must have liked what they saw at the North Carolina pro day because Carter was the third tar heel defensive player to visit this week. He did tear a ligament in his knee in December that will drop him out of the first round. He will not be ready for training camp. Ballard was a tight end before moving to defensive at Iowa. He projects as a 3-4 defensive end. Carter is an outside linebacker who played very well his first two years in College but struggled last year.

Two Visit Today: The Bills have two more college prospects visiting today led by Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers. Wisconsin DE J.J. Watt is also in town. Bowers had a decent pro day but is falling in mock drafts because of a lingering knee injury. The Bills will get a good look at the surgically repaired knee. Watt projects as a 3-4 defensive end with very good intangibles.

Draft Page Launched! We have launched our 2011 draft page! As in the past it will be your one stop shopping on draft day with links to scouting reports, our draft capsules of each pick, final grade, and links to preview, review, and mock drafts! We also have a list of links to draft resources on the web. Also, stop by our homepage and take our latest poll and let us know who you think they should take third overall. Draft Page.

Bowers Visiting: ESPN is reporting that DE Da'Quan Bowers is also on his way to Buffalo to visit with the team today. Bowers stock has been falling because of a knee injury. He has top pick talent but may fall out of the top ten because of his knee.

Three Visitors Today: The Bills welcomed three players to One Bills Drive for visits today. Two defensive ends and two players from North Carolina were in town. DEs Cameron Jordan and Robert Quinn led the visit. Quinn's teammate LB Quan Sturdivant was also in town. The Bills are looking hard for pass rush help and have looked at many ends and linebackers. Jordan can likely play in both a 3-4 and 4-3 but could be a true defensive end in the 3-4. The Bills must have liked what they saw from Quinn and Sturdivant at their pro day last week in Chapel Hill. Quinn missed this past season because of an NCAA suspension for accepting gifts.
