Long Off Season Begins With One Firing
Reed A Hall Finalist: Andre Reed is one of 17 players to be named finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Class of 2011 will be announced the day before the Super Bowl. 11 others didn't make the cut. Reed has been a finalist for the fourth straight time.
A Year To Grow On: This is the first Sunday without Bills football but we have put our gameday homepage to use by putting our final season ending grades. We grade out each position for the season and give individual grades to players as well. We also take a look at what we think will happen for these players in 2011. It was a disappointing season in 2010 but the team may be building for future success. Final Season Grades.

The Bengals will coach the North team. It is the first time since 1984 that the Bills coaching staff will take part in the game and the fourth time overall. This is a good chance for the Bills coaching staff to get an inside look at some of the top college players coming out in the draft. Do you think this gives the Bills an edge for the draft? Take our poll on our homepage and let us know!

Cross Gone: The Bills did make a change in the coaching staff as inside linebackers coach Demontie Cross was let go this afternoon. The linebacking corps really struggled in the new 3-4 defense as Paul Posluszny in particular struggled to pick up the scheme. No wholesale changes are expected on the coaching staff but it is unknown if other coaches may be let go or if Cross is the only one.

Bills Sign Two: It's that time of year that non playoff teams sign practice squad players to future free agent contracts. The Bills signed two of them, OL Jason Watkins and LB Jammie Kirlew. Watkins was on the practice squad for the last two years and is out of eligibility on that unit. Kirlew was signed to the practice squad in November.
Draft Talk Begins: The dates for the NFL draft has been set. The first round will take place On April 28th, rounds two and three will take place on the 29th and the final four rounds will be on April 30th. Bills fans are already talking draft. (In fact, we have put a countdown on our homepage). It may be nearly four months away but when your team is picking third, the draft talk begins before the first NFL playoff game. The Bills will pick third in the first round of the draft and second in the round two. Andrew Luck won't be there as the Panthers are set to take him with the first pick. So it appears the best move will be to take a defensive player with the third pick and maybe a QB in round two. It is possible they won't take a QB at all since Coach Gailey says he's very commmitted to Ryan Fitzpatrick. They will have about 20 hours to decide what they will do in 2nd round, and may be able to enterain trade offers for that very attractive pick. Everyone has an opinion on what they should do. What do you think? Take our poll on our homepage and let us know!

State Of The Bills: Chan Gailey gave an extensive interview to the media at One Bills Drive yesterday during locker cleanup day. Some of the highlights: Gailey said he is very committed to Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback which means drafting a QB with the third pick in the draft is not likely to happen. The future of Donte Whitner and Aaron Maybin with the team was described as tenuous. Maybin will likely be cut and Whitner appears unlikely to return to the team as he will be an unrestricted free agent. He was not in the locker room during the cleanout day but his locker was very empty. Gailey also said he likely will stay with the 3-4 defense although they will play multiple fronts. He also expects to keep all his defensive coaches.

Opponents Set: The Bills opponents are now known for the 2011 season, that is if there is a season with the labor unrest that is about to begin. Besides the home and home series with the division opponents the Bills will host: Denver, Oakland, Philadelphia, Washington, and Tennessee. They will travel to Kansas City, San Diego, Dallas, and to New Jersey to face the Giants.
