Bills Blown Out In Tampa Bay

Gameday Grades: The final score doesn't even begin to tell the story of how badly the Bills were beat. They basically destoryed themselves because Tampa Bay didn't do too much themselves but they didn't have to. Gameday Grades.

Bills Blitz: The Bills played their worst game of the season as the Buccaneers blew out Buffalo 27-6 in a very ugly game in Tampa Bay. Third string running back Bobby Rainey ran 80 yards for a touchdown :18 into the game and it went downhill from there. Mike Glennon threw a 38 yard touchdown pass to Vincent Jackson and a 5 yarder to Timothy Wright to give the Bucs a 24-3 halftime lead. EJ Manuel could get nothing going offensively as he faced heavy pressure all day and was sacked seven times. He threw four interceptions although two of them were the fault of his receivers. Regardless it doubled his interception total for the season as he only had four picks all year coming in. The game was real ugly for both teams in the second half as there were more penalties than points after the intermission as both teams managed just a field goal. Bills Blitz.

Injury Update: Ron Brooks got hurt covering a first quarter punt. He was down and not moving for several minutes but got up under his own power and was ok. He returned to the game. Brian Moorman got banged up momentarily when he was hit while punting. He was ok and finished the game. Robert Woods was banged up on an interception after a big hit by Darelle Revis. He seemed ok as well. Injury Page.

Inactives: Once again the Bills are totally healthy heading into today's game. That means every scratch is a healthy one, the inactives are: Jeff Tuel, Antoine McClain, Frank Summers, Tony Moeaki, Jamaal Westerman, Mark Asper, and Brandon Smith. Doug Marrone said earlier in the week that Moeaki would be inactive since there wasn't enough time to get him ready to play. Westerman, Summers, and Asper are new in recent weeks to this list. With the bigger Wingo active at running back the team will go with Evan Rodriguez at fullback. J.J. Unga gets the nod over Asper to backup at guard as the team begins to evaluate some young players for the future. Vincent Jackson will play for the Bucs after being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

Bills Prepared For Heat: The Bills practiced with the heat turned up in the fieldhouse on Thursday and Friday to prepare them for the heat of Tampa. That is just what they will get for today's game. It will be sunny and warm at kickoff with a gametime temperature of around 80°. Winds will be light out of the South Southeast at 7mph.

Everyone Practicing: The Bills had every player on the practice field today as Marquise Goodwin and Scott Chandler returned to practice. Goodwin left practice early yesterday as a precaution when he tweaked his calf. Chandler missed yesterday because of the birth of his third daughter. Goodwin and Kyle Williams are the only people on the final injury report and they are listed as probable. Injury Page.

Goodwin Leaves Practice Early: Marquise Goodwin left practice early today with a minor calf injury. He was taken out as a precaution but is expected to be fine for the game on Sunday. Kyle Williams returned to practice after sitting Wednesday as he usually does to rest his Achilles. Scott Chandler missed practice because his wife is expecting a baby today. The coaches turned up the heat in the fieldhouse to get the team ready for the hot weather in Tampa. Coach Marrone said he doesn't think newly signed Tony Moeaki will play on Sunday, he doesn't think he will know enough of the offense. Injury Page.

Bounce Back in Tampa? The Bills look to make a quick recovery from the devastating loss in Toronto last week. They have a chance to do just that on Sunday against the 3-9 Buccaneers. Look for the Bills defense to try and bounce back from their worst performance of the year last week. Game Preview.

Bills Sign TE Moeaki: Don't know if it had anything to do with the big drop Scott Chandler made on Sunday but the Bills have filled their open roster spot by signing veteran TE Tony Moeaki to a reported two year deal. He was a third round pick of the Chiefs in 2010 and had three injury plagued seasons before being waived-injured after getting hurt in the preseason. He is now healthy and worked out for Tennessee while Tampa Bay were also interested in him after he received an injury settlement from Kansas City making him a free agent. Front Office Page.

Choice Honored: Every Bill but Kyle Williams practiced today with the team. Williams was taking his usual Wednesday off to rest his Achilles. Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller each wore a #20 practice jersey in honor of Tashard Choice who was very well liked in the locker room before being released today. Injury Page.

Bills Release Choice: In a somewhat surprising move the Bills have released RB Tashard Choice. The veteran was in his third season in Buffalo as the third string running back. The move likely opens up a little playing time for Ronnie Wingo. Choice was a solid back when called upon and a leader in the locker room but had only four games left on his contract and they likely want to see what they have in Wingo. The team didn't immediately fill the open roster spot. Depth Chart.

Toronto Series To Be Re-evaluated? In his weekly radio spot on WGR Russ Brandon said that every aspect of the organization will be looked at on January 1st. He said that includes the Toronto series. When asked if he can get out of the last four years of the agreement he just said that they will look at everything. This is the first time a bit of doubt was cast on the series. Brandon also said that the team while winning is most important they need to be viable and that only two games truly soldout with the other Ralph Wilson Stadium games being orchestrated to sellouts. The final game at the Ralph will likely be blacked out since there are still 20,000 tickets left.

Practice Squad Swap: The Bills seem to be making a habit out of swapping offensive linemen on the practice squad. Today they released Manase Foketi, who was signed just last week, and signed 6-3, 306-pound Jamaal Johnson-Webb. The rookie from Alabama A&M was an undrafted free agent signed by the Cardinals after the draft. He was released before the season started and spent some time this year on the practice squad's of Chicago and Minnesota.

Future Ownership: This week Tony Bogyo decided not to do his usual column lamenting another devastating loss for the Bills. Instead he takes on a much bigger issue, the future of the franchise after Ralph Wilson. Complete Story.

Monday December 2, 2013

No New Injuries: Doug Marrone said the team came out of yesterday's loss in pretty good shape injury wise. There were no new injuries to report but there will be some players who are limited when they practice on Wednesday. C.J. Spiller tweaked his ankle, Stephon Gilmore appeared to get a cramp, and EJ Manuel got the wind knocked out of him in the game. Injury Page.
