Gameday Grades: The Bills defense finished the season like they played all year as they shined in the finale that got the Bills a win in Foxboro for the first time in 13 years. The offense was efficient, especially in the first half. Gameday Grades.
Bills Blitz: Kyle Orton led the Bills on two 80 yard touchdown drives in the first half to lead Buffalo to a 17-9 win over the Patriots. It was the first ever win in 13 games at Gillette Stadium for the Bills. The Patriots didn't have much to play for and rested several banged up starters and played mostly backups in the second half. Boobie Dixon had a one yard touchdown run after Orton hit Robert Woods for a 6 yard scoring pass. Dan Carpenter added a 48 yard field goal giving him a club record 34 on the season. The Bills defense was strong again allowing just three Stephen Gostkowski field goals. The win gives the Bills a winning record for the first time since 2004 as they finished 9-7. Bills Blitz.
Urbik Hurt: Kraig Urbik hurt his lower back in the first half and his return was immediately listed as questionable but he did not play in the second half. Cordy Glenn suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter and did not return. Boobie Dixon and Duke Williams got banged up but returned. Da'Norris Searcy banged up a shoulder and missed some plays. Injury Page.
Gameday Inactives: Stephon Gilmore and Marcell Dareus were ruled out yesterday and lead the list of inactives as they are the only injured players not going today. The healthy scratches are Bryce Brown, Chris Gragg, Cyrus Kouandjio, Marquise Goodwin, and Randell Johnson. The Patriots don't need the game as they have locked up the top seed so Rob Gronkowksi and Julian Edelman lead their list of inactives that included OL Dan Connolly and Sebastian Volmer along with CB Brandon Browner.
Finale Weather: It will be an unusually mild day for football in New England as the gametime temperature will be 47°. Morning showers should give way to just cloudy skies by kickoff. The wind will be out of the west at around 10mph.

Gilmore, Dareus Ruled Out: The Bills announced after arriving in Boston on Saturday that Marcell Dareus and Stephon Gilmore have now been downgraded from doubtful to out for tomorrow's game against the Patriots. They obviously did not make the trip as Gilmore has a concussion and Dareus a knee injury both were suffered in the loss to Oakland. Injury Page.
Polian Coming Back? Pro Football Talk is reporting that some in league circles say the Bills will be bringing back Bill Polian in an unspecified role as soon as Monday. It has been rumored for months that the Pegulas would bring in a so called football czar to take a look at the entire football organization. The team and Polian would look to find a title that would not affect his possible election into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when the Class of 2015 is announced before the Super Bowl. The report also says that Doug Whaley and Doug Marrone's jobs aren't completely safe and there is a chance Russ Brandon's job is in jeopardy as well. Whaley and Brandon could take the fall for the EJ Manuel draft pick and the trade for Sammy Watkins that cost them a first round pick. Polian recently praised Marrone as a possible coach of the year candidate. Polian could also possibly try to bring his son Chris into the organization he is currently the director of pro personnel for the Jaguars. Polian denied the report to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News saying it is as wrong as can be. Tim Graham reported for the newspaper that sources told him no front office changes are expected but there will be end of the year meetings held next week.

Dareus, Gilmore Doubtful: It appears the Bills will be without two defensive starters for the finale against New England. Marcell Dareus and Stephon Gilmore are both listed as doubtful for the game after they failed to practice again on Friday. Doug Marrone said on WGR this morning that he would play both players without practicing this week if they were cleared to go. Gilmore is undergoing the league's concussion protocol and Dareus injured his knee in the loss to the Raiders. The only other two players on the injury report are listed as probable. Dan Carpenter continues to be on the report with a groin injury that has him limited in practice but playing in the games. Aaron Williams has a hip injury but is expected to play. The Patriots have 15 players listed as questionable and would likely sit a lot of these players since they have the top seed clinched. Injury Page.
Finale Preview: The Bills wrap up their 15th straight non playoff season in their personal place of horrors. They head to Gillette Stadium where they are 0-12 lifetime to take on the Patriots who also have nothing to play for because they have clinched homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Complete Preview.

Dareus, Gilmore Sit: Marcell Dareus and Stephon Gilmore were the only two players not practicing today. Gilmore is undergoing the league's concussion protocol and Dareus has a knee injury. Both players were hurt against the Raiders but will not go on injured reserve because their injuries are not considered major. Their availability for the final game is very much in the air. Doug Marrone said a decision on Dareus will likely go up until gametime. A new name to the injury report is Aaron Williams, he was limited with a hip injury. Injury Page.
Three To Pro Bowl: Three quarter of the Bills vaunted defensive line are headed to the Pro Bowl. Marcell Dareus, Mario Williams, and Kyle Williams are the only three Bills to make the squad. Dareus is going for a second straight year and it is the fourth appearance for both Williams boys. Dareus leads all defensive tackles with 10 sacks. It is Kyle's third straight appearance in the All Star game that will be played at the site of the Super Bowl a week before the big game.

Orton To Start: The Bills held a rare Tuesday practice today in order for the players and coaches to have Thursday off for Christmas. Doug Marrone confirmed that once again Kyle Orton will start at quarterback saying from an efficiency and control standpoint he still gives them the best chance at winning. The coach also said that they will wait and see until later in the week if Marcell Dareus will be available and that Stephon Gilmore is going through the league's concussion protocol. Regarding his future, he hasn't heard anything from the Pegulas but said this isn't the time for that anyway.
Game Stays at 1pm: Sunday's finale against the Patriots in New England will stay at 1pm. If the Broncos had beaten the Bengals last night the game would have been moved to a 4:25pm kickoff. Since Denver lost the Patriots have now clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs which means the game means nothing to them. Bill Belichick has a history of playing his starters in meaningless games so it will be interesting to see how much time the starters see in this game with the #1 seed wrapped up.
Huge Win: Tony Bogyo breaks down the crushing loss to the Raiders that shattered the Bills longshot playoff hopes in advance of the finale against the Patriots. Complete Story.

Finale May Be Moved: Sunday's season finale in New England against the Patriots is currently scheduled to start at 1pm. It was announced today that if the Broncos win tonight the game will be moved to a 4:25pm kickoff. If the Bengals win it will remain at 1pm. A Broncos win leaves the top seed in the AFC up in the air, if the Bengals win than the Patriots clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
Mike Williams Released: The Bills have released Mike Williams from injured reserve which was their right once he was declared healthy. He reverted to that list after clearing waivers when he was placed on the waived/injured list. Despite a report, there is no cap implications for releasing Williams. He is now free to sign with any team.
