Morgan Cut: To make room for Reggie Bush the team released kicker Marshall Morgan leaving Dan Carpenter and Jordan Gay as the only kickers on the depth chart. Gay is not a competition for the kicking job so Carpenter seems safe for now. The team also swapped low end wide receivers releasing Davonte Allen and signing Kain Colter. He was a tryout player this spring and was an undrafted free agent in 2014 signed by the Vikings. He had 50 TDs in his collegiate career at Northwestern. Front Office Page.
Bush Deal Done: The Bills have officially announced the signing of Reggie Bush. Ian Rapoport reported that the physical went fine and that he has signed a one year incentive laden deal to join the Bills. He should be on the practice field tomorrow night. Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports that Doug Whaley spoke to LeSean McCoy at length today about Bush's role and said that they may see some formations where both backs will be in the backfield together and reassured him that Bush's primary role will be as a returner. Bush told the team's website that we will definitely see him back there. Bush said it is special being in Buffalo and figures to be in football shape within a week and he is back at full strength from his knee injury. He said he's ready to fill any role with the team and will be ready to return punts and kicks.
Ryan Presser: Rex Ryan felt great that the team got the pads on and the only player who didn't finish it was Marquise Goodwin who cramped up. He said they don't have a real good return game right now but is impressed by Greg Salas returning kicks. Obviously this is the main place that Reggie Bush will help out when and if he signs. It was good to see Aaron Williams get that contact, next up in his mental hurdles will be to get a tackle. They really need him so it was good to see him on the field making contact. The coach didn't help contract negotiations when he said far and away Stephon Gilmore has been the most impressive player out there. He is physically gifted and now on top of the game mentally.
Camp Day Three Notes: The Bills are back on the field for day three of training camp today in pads for the first time. They are hitting but only high and not to the ground. Aaron Williams is in pads for the first time since the neck injury sidelined him early last season. CB Jonathan Dowling passes his physical and he is now off the Active/Non-Football illness list and is on the field. Ronald Darby continues the rough start to his camp getting beat by Greg Little and Robert Woods several times once again today. Sal Capaccio tweeted that the offense got the better of the defense in 7 on 7 drills today. Adolphus Washington is the first player who had to run laps because of an offsides penalty. Taylor's first pass in team drills was the same result as his first pass in team drills on Saturday. It resulted in a pick by Stephon Gilmore who has been dominant in the early days of camp. Marquise Goodwin left practice with cramps. Dan Carpenter went 6 for 7 on field goals today besting Marshall Morgan who was 4 for 6. EJ Manuel was picked off by Jonathan Meeks when he stared down his target downfield.
Taylor Deal Possible? Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is at Bills camp today and reported for the network that the Bills and the agent for Tyrod Taylor are having ongoing negotiations and there is plenty of optimism a deal could get done before the start of the season. This continues recent reports that the two sides are getting closer which is a change in philosophy that the team would wait and see how he did at least early in the season before locking him up as their franchise quarterback. Rapoport reports that the Bills turned their attention to a new deal with Taylor when talks with Stephon Gilmore didn't go anywhere. If they lock up Taylor they would be able to use franchise tag on Gilmore next offseason if a deal can't be reached.
Bush In Town: Several sources have confirmed a Jason LaCanfora report that Reggie Bush is in Western New York to visit with the team. Reports say he will take a physical and if he passes, he will sign with the team. Bush is coming off of a torn MCL suffered last season in a freak accident. There were reports it was a torn ACL but Shaun O'Hara reports that isn't the case. Sal Capaccio of WGR reports that the team feels he fits everything they do and would step in as the top punt returner and the #2 spot at running back.
Taylor On WGR: Tyrod Taylor appeared on WGR this morning on the Howard Simon Show. Taylor said even though there is no competition per se at the QB spot there is always competition at every position. He is looking to correct his mistakes from last year and get better each day. He wants to perform at a high level and execute well everytime he is on the field. He's looking to distribute the ball to all the playmakers on the team. Each week in their system is unique and they are more comfortable in year two of the offense and the coaches definitely expect more from them and would like them to be more dynamic. He challenges himself each and everyday to get better. He is able to build confidence knowing he is the guy getting the first team reps. It will be very special going back to Baltimore for the season opener. He will always have love for the organization but it is competition and it will be great to go out and play against friends.

Camp Day Two Notes: The Bills held their second straight morning practice to start training camp and for the second day in a row the attendance was lackluster. Rex Ryan admitted that the buzz isn't what it was last year when he took over and their was a QB competition. On the field it may be a good thing that not many fans witnessed a very lackluster practice session. There were several dead ball penalties on both sides of the ball and Ryan said they will deal out punishments of push ups for such infractions. Charles Clay sat out most of the practice as they are being careful with veterans like him. Ronald Darby had a terrible day by all accounts on twitter as he was beaten several times. Greg Little made an acrobatic catch for the second straight day and Greg Salas is carving out a spot in the slot. The defensive line continues to have its way with the offensive line but that is normal this early in camp. Jerry Hughes dominated from his new spot as an outside linebacker in the 3-4 lining up on the left side. Tyrod Taylor has looked lackluster the first two days of camp. The team will be in pads tomorrow morning for the first time but there will be no contact yet. They will not hit to the ground until a scrimmage on Saturday.
