Dog Days Of The Offseason
Tuesday July 19, 2016
Individual Game Ticket Sales: The Bills have started selling individual game tickets but the supply for many games are extremely limited. The team has tier pricing with the platinum game being the most expensive and that is the home opener against the Jets on Thursday night Sept. 15th. There are four gold games against Arizona, San Francisco, New England and Pittsburgh. The Jacksonville game is a silver level game and the final two home games against Cleveland and Miami are bronze games. The two preseason games are the bottom tier.
Night Practice Ticket Distribution: The Bills announced that night practice tickets will be distributed tomorrow starting at 9am. Tickets for the Aug. 2nd night practice will be distributed at three area 7-Eleven shops, two in Rochester and one in Amherst. Four area Tops Friendly Markets will distribute tickets to the Saturday Aug. 6th night practice. The August 11th practice will have tickets distributed at three Sunoco locations. Dunn Tire will distribut tickets to the August 18th practice online and Safelite Auto Glass will distribute tickets to the August 22nd night practice at five locations.

Bush To Buffalo? Jason LaCanfora and Ian Rapoport are both reporting that the Bills and Reggie Bush have mutual interest in each other. Bush missed most of last year with a torn ACL but says he's healthy now. The Bills may be looking at running back depth with the four game suspension of Karlos Williams and the DWI arrest of Jonathan Williams.

Karlos Williams Suspended: It hasn't been a good couple of days for Bills running backs named Williams. A day after Jonathan Williams was arrested for DWI, Karlos Williams has been suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. It hasn't been a good offseason for Karlos who showed up at offseason workouts grossly out of shape and now will have four more weeks to get into shape. He will be eligilbe to participate in preseason games and training camp. With possible disciplinary action for Jonathan the Bills depth at running back is getting thin quickly. The team released a stern statement that said, "As an organization, we are disappointed that Karlos has put himself in this situation. Poor decisions such as this affect not only the individual, but the entire Bills organization. We will continue to work with Karlos through the various player programs we provide to assist him in making better decisions moving forward.”
Brady Drops Fight: The long national nightmare known as deflategate is now over as Tom Brady announced today on his facebook page that he is dropping his fight and will serve his four game suspension. That means it is now official that the Bills will face the Patriots on October 2nd without Tom Brady at quarterback.

McCoy Cleared By League: LeSean McCoy was cleared for his involvement in a bar brawl by Philadelphia authorities earlier and now the league has finished its investigation. The league said they will not be any suspension forthcoming for McCoy.
Brady Suspension Still On: The appeals court has decided not to hear Tom Brady's case meaning his four game suspension at this point will still take place at the beginning of the season. That means he will miss the first meeting with the Bills in Foxboro week 4. His only remaining option is to ask the Supreme Court to hear it but that seems to be a longshot. Marcell Dareus for one is disappointed. He told NFL Network that he would rather face the Patriots with Brady at Quarterback.

Goodwin Doesn't Qualify: Marquise Goodwin should be at training camp from the start afterall. Goodwin failed in his bid to qualify for his second Olympics when he finished 7th in the long jump qualifying finals last night. The top three qualify for the Olympics. Getting to training camp on time will help him catch up and give him a chance to make the team but he will need to start bulking up after getting lean for his Olympic run.

Buddy Ryan Dies: The father of Bills coaches Rex and Rob Ryan has passed away at 82 years old. Legendary coach Buddy Ryan has been in ill health in recent years and his sons admitted in an interview recently that he wouldn't be around that much longer. Buddy is the architect of the dreaded 4-6 defense in the 80s. The team released the following statement on his death: "Terry and Kim Pegula and the Buffalo Bills organization want to express their deepest sympathies and condolences to Rex, Rob and the entire Ryan family on the passing of their dad, Buddy Ryan. Buddy was a legend in our league in so many ways. His defenses were innovative and he was a master at putting his talented and tough players in a position to succeed. He was a real game changer and much of his philosophies and defensive tactics are still utilized effectively by teams today. Buddy's influence will be carried on by defensive coaches for generations to come, but none more so than by Rex and Rob. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the Ryan family today." The Bills family also lost another alumni on Sunday when for director of college scouting Dwight Adams died at 83 years old. Our condolences go out to both families.

Watkins May Not Be Ready: Sammy Watkins backed off of comments he made a week ago about being ready after the first couple of days of training camp. He now says that he will have to wait and see if he'd ready for camp. He has not been running the last three or four weeks by design so he doesn't now how his surgically repaired foot will react when he starts. He isn't worried if he doesn't participate early in camp as the goal is to have him ready for the regular season.

Stadium Plans: Terry Pegula spoke to WGR this week as the city prepared to host the NHL draft. A potential new stadium for the Bills was a hot topic ever since Commissioner Roger Goodell pushed the issue during Jim Kelly's golf classic earlier in the month. Pegula admitted the league would like to see them get a new team but Buffalo's needs are different than other cities. Kim Pegula said the same thing in an interview with the Rochester D&C. Both Pegulas say the team is looking at it but are not in a rush. Terry also said they have no preference as to a location of a new stadium.
