Bills Sign LB As OTAs Continue
Watkins Recovery: In a sign of improvement Sammy Watkins was off crutches on the sidelines yesterday during OTAs but still had a walking boot on. That boot may get removed today with approval from the medical staff. Rex Ryan is very confident Watkins will be ready for the start of the season and the team is holding out hope he will be able to participate in at least part of training camp but no timetable has been given. Watkins knows he can't push it as this type of injury can be made much worse by rushing back into action before you are ready.

OTAs Continue: The Bills continue OTAs this week with today's session open to the media. Tweets from the local media report that Adolphus Wasington, Karlos Williams, Mike Gillislee, Greg Salas, Kolby Listenbee, Zach Brown, Marquise Goodwin, Sammy Watkins, Stephon Gilmore, Shaq Lawson, and Kyle Williams are among the players not in attendance. Seantrel Henderson is due back tomorrow after undergoing two surgeries for his Cron's Disease. One operation took out an effected area of the intestines while the 2nd surgery re-attached it. He is expected to be able to play going forward with no ill effects after getting back in playing shape and adding weight back. Charles Clay returned to practice after missing last week with an undisclosed injury. Sammy Watkins was on the sidelines without crutches but still in a walking boot. Preston Brown and Jordan Mills had a bit of a scuffle.

Bills Sign Lattimore: The Bills have added to their linebacker corps after the surgery to top pick Shaq Lawson. The team has agreed to terms with former Jet Jamari Lattimore. He spent one season in New York so he did not play for Rex Ryan with gang green. He was in Green Bay the first three years of his career after coming out of Middle Tennessee St. in 2012. He has nine starts in 64 career games with 68 tackles, two sacks and one interception. He is solid on special teams with 22 solo tackles. He visited two weeks ago and had left without a contract. No roster move needed to be made as the Bills had an open spot on their 90 man roster.

Ragland Signs: The Bills have another draft pick in the fold as 2nd round pick Reggie Ragland has signed on the dotted line according to a tweet from his agent. The only draft picks not signed are Shaq Lawson and Cardale Jones.
OTAs Continue: Today is the 2nd of three OTA practices this week. This is the only day this week the practice is open to the media but the team released their new media policy before the workout that created a twitter firestorm and severely limits what the media can report. Tidbits are coming out from the workout anyway as according to various media tweets Randell Johnson is working at inside linebacker while TJ Barnes is getting a look at the other side of the ball. The Nose tackle now has jersey #75 and is getting a look at left tackle. Among the many players not working out are Sammy Watkins, Marquise Goodwin, Karlos Williams, Shaq Lawson, Charles Clay, Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, Davonte Allen, Marcus Easley, Greg Salas, Seantrel Henderson, and Stephon Gilmore. Watkins is in attendance and is on crutches with a walking boot on his left foot. Karlos Williams is likely absent because he just had a baby. Several of the other players are coming off of surgery.

OTAs Begin Without Gilmore: The Bills begin organized team activities today which is also phase 3 of the offseason conditioning program. In this phase players will be coached on the field but no live contact is allowed. These workouts remain voluntary which means there will be no discipline for Stephon Gilmore who will not attend according to Ty Dunne of the Buffalo News. The report says the Bills and Gilmore's agent are working on a longterm deal. He is right now under the fifth year option and would earn $11 Million on that deal. He would make a lot more under a longterm deal and it would open up more cap space likely unless its front loaded. There are 10 OTA days in all. This week they will be on the field today, tomorrow, and Thursday. The only mandatory camp in the offseason is the minicamp that runs June 14th thru 16th.
