The Schedule Is Out! Make your fall plans, the schedule is out! The Bills will open at home against the Jets before traveling to Carolina in week 2 so Sean McDermott can play against his former team in their home opener. The Bills will host Denver week 3 and head to Atlanta week 4. The bye week is week 6 on October 15th. In a wierd schedule quirk they will close with four of their final five games against Miami and New England including the final two in New England and then Miami to close out the season. They are playing the last two on the road because the World Juniors tournament will have an outdoor game at New Era Field on December 29th. They also have three straight home games earlier in December with the Colts coming to town along with the Pats and Dolphins. The schedule also gives them back to back road games three times and three out of four on the road early in the season. Ralph Wilson would have loved that 14 of the 16 games are currently schedule for 1pm. The lone 4:00 start is in Los Angeles. The lone primetime game is against the Jets at the Meadowlands. This schedule is on the right side of the homepage and also available on our Schedule Page.
Schedule Rumors: The schedule rumors have begun and there is a rumor the Bills will open the season at home against the Jets according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. He also says the Jets will host the Bills in a primetime matchup on a Thursday night. Nick Wojton reports the Bills will host the Broncos on September 24th that is week 3. If this pans out a road game is almost assured for week 2. Other rumors compiled by Buffalo Rumblings includes the Bills going to Atlanta Oct. 1st during week 4 and the Bills would go to Miami to close out the season since the Jets are rumored to close it out the Patriots and the Bills need to be on the road because of the World Juniors.
McDermott Presser: Sean McDermott met with the media after today's minicamp practice in the team's annual draft day luncheon. He stuck to the team's statement regarding Cyrus Kouandjo saying there isn't much to add. On Mike Gillislee, he said they are still evaluating the contract and will make a decision within a couple of days whether or not to match it. He stuck with the team line on Doug Whaley saying it's a team effort and the GM is in charge of the 53 man roster. On the draft, McDermott said character is very important and they will look at every position with their top pick. He said the draft is deep at corner so that may mean they don't feel they need to take one right away. The coach said that Terry Pegula has a vote in the draft room but at the end of the day the decision on who they pick is his and Whaley's. On Sammy Watkins he said he's going through rehab very well and they are evaluating whether or not to pick up his option. McDermott acknowledged again that it is a quarterback driven league and that is why they have paid so much attention to that position in pre draft visits. He also said he likes the work the quarterbacks they have are doing. He said he's not concerned how it would effect Tyrod Taylor if they draft one. When asked about flashy draft picks, McDermott says he drives a truck he's not flashy. He said he's a big believer in the undrafted free agent pool.
Bizzare Incident: Cyrus Kouandjio was not at minicamp today after a bizarre incident yesterday that had him taken to Erie County Medical Center for observation. He was found on Tuesday near the stadium not fully clothed and trying to hop an electric fence while yelling "shoot me". He was not charged with anything and the team released a statement saying, "We are aware of the matter involving Cyrus and are carefully monitoring his condition and gathering more information. We don't have all of the details, so we won't have any further comment at this time."
Veteran Minicamp: Today the media was allowed to witness the veteran voluntary minicamp at the fieldhouse at One Bills Drive. Attendance was good. Sammy Watkins was there but still rehabbing so he is not working out. Kolby Listenbee remains sidelined as well and of course Mike Gillislee and Cyrus Kouandjio were not there.
Busy Day Today: While the Sabres are firing their GM and Coach it's a busy day for the Pegulas' other team. The Bills continue their 2nd phase of organized team activities today at One Bills Drive. Sean McDermott will address the media in the annual draft day luncheon where nothing of significance or truth will be said. Tonight fans can begin to make the fall plans as the NFL Schedule will be released at 8pm. We will have the complete schedule on the right side of this homepage and on our schedule page shortly after it is released. Leaks will run rampant later today, Sal Cappaccio is reporting that it is likely the team will be on the road the final two weeks of the season as the World Juniors Hockey tournament will play an outdoor game at New Era Field on December 29th. Keep it here all day for more!

Gillislee Given Offer Sheet: The Patriots are looking to raid the Bills again as they have signed Mike Gillislee to an offer sheet. Ian Rapoport says the deal is a 2 year, $6.4 Million deal with $4 Million coming in the first season. It looks like they created the offer sheet to be tough to match for the cap strapped Bills like they did last year when the poached Chris Hogan as the Bills continue to refuse to give players higher tenders. Joe Buscaglia reports the Bills have about $10.8M in cap space. $1.7M of that is Gillislee's tender, if they match the offer thye would be left with around $8.6M in cap space so they can match it from a financial standpoint. If they don't you can add RB to the long list of needs for the Bills in the draft. The Bills have five days to match or they will receive a 5th round draft pick for losing him.
