Director Hired: The Bills did things backwards but they now have a College Scouting Director a week after hiring the Assistant Director of College Scouting. Terrance Gay is the man in charge of the College scouting department and Lake Dawson reports directly to him. Gray has spent the last 11 years working for the Vikings scouting department. He spent three years before that with the Chiefs. The team also filled out their scouting staff by hiring Marcus Cooper, Pete Harris and Chris Marrow. Harris and Cooper were both part of the scouting staff here last year and they now make it five scouts that were hired back after being fired the day of the draft.
Bills Signing Hodges: Adam Schefter reports what Sean McDermott said in his presser that the team is signing Gerald Hodges he can step right in as a starting outside linebcker. He started 12 games for the 49ers last year making 83 tackles with three sacks and two interceptions at inside linebacker. He will enter his fifth season in the league and has 26 career starts. He played for defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier when they were both in Minnesota. To make room the Bills released CB Charles Gaines. Depth Chart.
McDermott Addresses Media: Sean McDermott spoke to the media before today's OTA practice session. He said there is no update on the knee injury to Zay Jones and he's still week to week but progressing. He said the signing of Rod Streater had nothing to do with his injury. John Miller suffered a sprained ankle yesterday and is day to day. Michael Ola is also day to day with an injury. McDermott gave an update on free agent LB Gerald Hodges who visited on Monday. He said he's on his way back to Buffalo right now and there is a good chance he signs. That would be a solid addition to the line backing corps. The coach is concerned with the chronic knee issues for Charles Clay but they are monitoring it and he's participating almost fully. The coach feels the cutting of Cyrus Kouandjio was the right thing to do for the team and the player so he has time to find another team. McDermott said he's very impressed with the front office being put together by Brandon Beane. The coach said it's a 50-50 split on building for now and for the long term. He also feels that Marcell Dareus has bought in to what they are doing. The team appears committed to playing Dion Dawkins at tackle instead of Guard where many people projected him. McDermott feels he has the flexibility to play left or right tackle. He also feels that Ronald Darby is ready to get back to his rookie year playing level. The coach said Cordy Glenn is progressing nicely in returning from his ankle injury. Injury Page.

Bills Make Roster Moves: The Bills have signed free agent WR Rod Streater and free agent TE Wes Saxton. To make room they released Cyrus Kouandjio and 5th QB Josh Woodrum. Kouandjio has had issues in the offseason including an altercation with police that had him temporarily hospitalized. Woodrum had no chance of making the team and they don't need five quarterbacks for training camp. Streater visited with the team yesterday and was quickly signed. He has 127 catches in his five year career with Oakland for 1,755 receiving yards. He set career highs in 2013 with 60 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns. Saxton spent time on the Jets and Redskins practice squads. Front Office Page.
