Bill Put It All Together

Dave Moore - AP Photo Bills Grade Out Well: It was a pleasure doing the grades this week. A great performance all around led to the best grades since the opener. The defense dominated while the offense executed well. It all leads to highly passing grades. Gameday Grades.

Impressive Win: The victory over the Giants was very impressive as the team had a great all around effort. The offense beat the blitz and made big plays. The defense played a perfect game except for one play. The special teams were impressive to. It all leads to a very convincing road victory. Game Review.

Bledsoe Leaves Early: Drew Bledsoe had his solid performance cut short when he took a helmet to helmet hit in the third quarter. He stayed in the game and led the Bills to a touchdown but then left in favor of Alex Van Pelt who finished the game. Coach Williams said he took him out not that he was hurt. Bledsoe came into the game suffering the effects of a concussion and appeared a bit woozy after the hit. Dave Moore, Keith McKenzie, Terrence McGee, and Jonas Jennings also left with assorted injuries. None of them returned to the game. Injury Page.

Bills Win: The Bills snapped a four game losing streak and scored their first road touchdown since week 2 enroute to a 24-7 win over the Giants. Drew Bledsoe was on as he threw for 252 yards and two touchdown passes to Dave Moore and Bobby Shaw. Travis Henry added a touchdown of his own and rumbled for 113 yards in the victory. We will have our complete game review tomorrow morning.

Gameday Weather: It will be Partly Cloudy and breezy for the game at the Meadowlands. The gametime high temperature will be around 48°. The winds will gust to around 15mph making the temperature feel around 42°.

Saturday November 29, 2003

Pucillo Downgraded: The Bills have downgraded right guard Mike Pucillo to doubtful on the injury report. He has a turf toe injury and has not practiced all week. Ross Tucker will start in his place if he can't go. Tucker will be making his first start as a Bill and his eight career start. Sammy Morris, meanwhile will be a gametime decision with his bruised knee. He has not practiced all week. Injury Report.

Bledsoe To Play: Drew Bledsoe took all the snaps in practice today with the first unit and pronounced himself ready to play on Sunday despite feeling a little bit "fuzzy" still. He has after effects from a mild concussion he suffered on Sunday. Bledsoe even quipped, "maybe I'm off just enough to make some better decisions." Injury Report.

Simonton Activated: Ken Simonton continued his back and forth season on the roster. He has been re-added to the active roster. He was taken off the practice squad on Wednesday and then re-signed with the team today. His spot on the practice squad was re-taken by RB Nick Maddox according to a report. He takes the place of Sam Aiken on the active roster. Front Office.

Bledsoe Probable: Drew Bledsoe has been added to the injury report as probable. It turns out his flu-like symptoms and upset stomach are a result of a concussion he suffered against the Colts. It happened when he took a knee to the back of his helmet. He said he is feeling ok but was a bit dizzy when he tried to practice on Tuesday. He was held out of practice yesterday but hopes to return to the practice field today. The Bills have an open roster spot after placing Sam Aiken on injured reserve. They may use it to activate QB Randy Fasani from the practice squad. Injury Report.

Players Point Fingers: Things are getting ugly at One Bills Drive as players begin to point fingers in blame. The good news is they aren't blaming each other, fingers seem squarely pointed at offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride. Antoine Winfield led the charge by saying in Bills Digest and to AP that he can't understand why the team hasn't run the ball more. On Wednesday, he regretted making those comments to the media but teammates stood behind him. Travis Henry backed him up and agreed with those statements. Ruben Brown said he will always stick up for Winfield.

Wednesday November 26, 2003

Posey Test's Negative: The tests on the sprained knee of Jeff Posey came out negative. As we told you earlier he is listed as questionable for this week's game and did not practice on Wednesday.

Moulds, Henry Held Out: Eric Moulds and Travis Henry were also held out of practice on Wednesday. Coach Williams hopes both players will practice tomorrow and both are expected to play on Sunday. Injury Report.

Aiken On IR: The Bills, as expected, have placed WR Sam Aiken on injured reserve ending his season. Aiken injured his knee last Friday in practice diving for a ball. He had arthroscopic surgery on Monday. The team has yet to replace him on the active roster.

Bledsoe Sent Home: Drew Bledsoe was sent home by the team today after working out for half of the practice. He had an upset stomach and his symptoms were described as flu-like. He is expected to return to practice tomorrow and has not been added to the injury report.

Eight On Report: The Bills have eight players on the injury report for this week's game, seven are questionable, one is out. Eric Moulds, Jonas Jennings, and Travis Henry amazingly enough are not three names on the report. Sam Aiken is out after knee surgery. Izell Reese is among the questionable players along with Jeff Posey. Sammy Morris is the one surprise name on the report, he is questionable with a knee injury. Injury Report.

Bills and Giants Struggling: The Bills and Giants are two similar teams, both had high expectations both are struggling mightily, both may be looking for a new head coach after the season. The winner of this game may be determined by which team decides to play hardest. Game Preview.

The Next Head Coach: With the firing of Gregg Williams a foregone conclusion at the end of the year, who will be the next head coach? Bills Daily columnist Joe Chenelly takes a look at a list of candidates. Complete Story.

Aiken Has Surgery: Sam Aiken underwent arthroscopic surgery yesterday to clean up cartilage damage in his right knee. Aiken's status will be updated tomorrow but he will likely be placed on injured reserve ending his season. Aiken injured the knee diving for a ball in practice on Friday. Injury Page.

Clements To Punt Returner: The Bills have made a few subtle changes to the depth chart this week. Nate Clements now appears to be the main punt returner and rookie Terrence McGee has replaced Kevin Thomas as the main nickel back. McGee had been taken time away from Thomas the last few games but was in the nickel almost exclusively on Sunday. Clements is back returning punts because he is bigger than Brown and may break a tackle or two.

Optimism In Loss? Bills Daily columnist Tony Bogyo is tired of looking at all the negatives with the Bills, this week's column takes the positive stuff out of yesterday's loss and looks at the glass half full. Do you think there will be any sarcasm oozing off of your computer? Complete Story.

Defense Solid For Three Quarters: The big battle in this game was the Bills defense against the high powered Colts offense. For three quarters the Bills won the battle. They ended up losing the war as the Colts scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to pull the game out. Gameday Grades.

Injury Update: Eric Moulds has something else to worry about besides his groin injury. He had what is being described as a hamstring cramp late in the game against the Colts. Jeff Posey sprained his knee and Mike Pucillo has turf toe. Injury Page.

Bills Lose Again: The touchdown drought came to an end against Indianapolis. The Bills in fact scored two of them. The defense played inspired against the high powered Colts offense but caved in the fourth quarter of the 17-14 loss. The Bills built a 14-3 lead behind touchdown runs by Drew Bledsoe and Sammy Morris. The Colts responded with fourth quarter drives of 61 and 80 yards to two Edgerrin James touchdown runs. Game Review.
