Bills Look To Get Healthy Over Bye

Bills Getting Healthy: Trent Edwards expects to be cleared to play on Sunday and took the first team reps today which means he is the likely starter on Sunday. The team is definitely healthier than they were before the bye. Donte Whitner, Jairus Byrd, and Bryan Scott all practiced. Terrence McGee, Keith Ellison, Jamon Meredith, Aaron Schobel, and Kyle Williams all did not practice. Injury Page.

Vick Rumors: Tony Dungy has acted as the advisor for Michael Vick's comeback to the NFL. He confirmed on NBC last night that the Bills inquired about Vick originally and there was some conversations but he ended up in Philadelphia. Dungy said the Bills could be a darkhorse option for Vick next year if the Eagles do not pick up his option. He feels it could be a good spot for him. Do you think the Bills should go after Vick? Let us know what you think by taking our poll on our homepage.

Bye Week: One thing is for sure today Bills fans will not have to sit through another agonizing day of pitiful offensive football from their team. The Bills are also guaranteed not to lose. So fans can watch teams that can actually score touchdowns or re-connect with their families and friends before the long and what certainly will be a difficult second half of the season begins.

Rosenhaus Takes Shots: Super agent Drew Rosenhaus has always had a good relationship with the Bills. It is one of the few teams he seems to get along with. That is one of the things that helped bring Terrell Owens to Buffalo. Now Rosenhaus is saying the things Owens won't about his client's poor stats this year. On a sports radio show Rosenhaus said some of the problems with the Bills include coaching and poor quarterback play. He goes on to say the Bills have perhaps the worst offensive line in the league especially at the tackle position. He says it's "shocking" how that unit's play has prohibited them from being an effective offensive team. Of course it seems Rosenhaus is saying everything that Bills fans know already about the team.

Scott Getting Work At LB: Bryan Scott got some work this week at linebacker. This has happened in the past as he got some work last year. He said he likely won't play the position but he was getting a refresher course just in case he's needed in an emergency. The Bills are banged up at the spot now that Keith Ellison is hurt but they are also short at safety as well with Donte Whitner and Jairus Byrd hurt so a move isn't likely.

Players Have Last Practice Of Week: The players held their second and last practice of the bye week today. They now have four days off before re-convening on Monday for the regular work week as they prepare for the Texans. 16 players missed practice today according to WGR. Those players are Geoff Hangartner, Justin Jenkins, Donte Whitner, Terrence McGee, Jairus Byrd, Corey McIntyre, Keith Ellison, Jamon Meredith, Terrell Owens, Josh Reed, Lee Evans, Shawn Nelson, Chris Kelsay, Aaron Schobel, Kyle Williams, and Marcus Stroud. Jonathan Scott did practice on Wednesday increasing the chances that he will play after the bye. Injury Page.

McGee Has Surgery: Terrence McGee decided to take care of his ongoing knee problems and had minor surgery today. He is expected to miss up to two weeks which means he probably won't play against Tennessee. McGee has been limited in practice the past few weeks but has not missed any games.

Schobel Expects To Play: Aaron Schobel said today that he expects to play when the Bills battle the Titans a week from Sunday. Schobel left Sunday's loss to the Texans with a groin injury. Jairus Byrd is back in Buffalo after getting looked at by a specialist for ongoing issues from his sports hernia surgery. The groin injury suffered against Texas is related and he had something done yesterday and will sit this week. He hopes to be better next week and not to miss any playing time. Byrd and Schobel were two of 16 players who did not practice today. Some were out because of injuries and some veterans were just resting. Injury Page.

Edwards Likely To Start After Bye: Dick Jauron said yesterday that this is a transition week for Trent Edwards and he is expected to practice fully with an eye on returning after the bye. He has missed two weeks with a concussion. Jauron stopped short in naming Edwards his starter upon his return but several reports say Edwards will start against Tennessee after the bye.

Banged Up Players Need Bye: The team has been banged up all season and may be the most banged up right now so the bye is coming at a good time. Dick Jauron said yesterday that Keith Ellison and Aaron Schobel were very sore yesterday so the bye should help them. Bryan Scott is ready to return to action while Jairus Byrd will get to rest his injured groin and sports hernia issue. Donte Whitner may not be ready to return after the bye but the week off should help. Injury Page.
