No Release For Schobel: Buddy Nix told the media after this morning's practice that Aaron Schobel will remain on the reserve/did not report list and will not be released. They will wait until he decides what to do and then will try to work out a trade with possible teams that Schobel would want to play for. Schobel told AP that he will play this year.
Schobel "Relieved": The AP contacted Aaron Schobel after Buddy Nix announced the team was moving on. Schobel said he was told he would be released if he reported. He said he understands the move and would have done the same thing if he was in the Bills shoes. He said he was sort relieved by the move. He went on to say he has no regrets and won't bad mouth the organization and appreciated the team, fans, and Ralph Wilson. Schobel had no plans to retire but will take two weeks to decide what his next move is and said he will play one more season for someone else.
Bills Moving On From Schobel: During the morning workout, Buddy Nix announced to reporters that the team was moving forward without Aaron Schobel. The team released a statement from Buddy Nix, "Aaron has been contemplating retirement for the past seven months, but we are at the point where we are moving forward and have informed his agent of our plans, Aaron has been a very good player for the Bills and we wish him and his family the best, but there comes a point where we have to move forward and that point is today. We are focusing on the team’s best interests." Nix is expected to talk to the media more later on.
Bills Short At Linebacker: The Bills are back on the practice field this morning in a closed session with just eight linebackers practicing according to Joe Buscaglia of WGR radio. Danny Batten is out after leaving practice early yesterday with a shoulder injury. No new news on him except he told the team's website he'll be ok. Paul Posluszny, Chris Kelsay, Kawika Mitchell, and Keith Ellison remain sidelined. Mitchell was given the day off yesterday it is interesting that he isn't practicing today either. Buscaglia tweeted that Posluszny was doing some work on the side running and stretching and testing out his groin muscle.
Bell Takes Part: It was a momentus day for Demetrius Bell yesterday at training camp. For the first time since camp started Bell took part in some of the team 11-on-11 drills. He had just been taking part in individual drills as he gets eased back into the game from his bad knee injury last season. Injury Page.

Batten Banged Up: Rookie LB Danny Batten left today's practice early with a shoulder injury. Eric Wood did not practice as he got his first day off since camp began. Chan Gailey had said Wood would require extra rest early on as he eases back in playing shape after overcoming a broken leg last season. The defense ruled the day during this afternoon's lone practice as they recorded four interceptions and had the upper hand on the offense.
Team Continues To Put Pads On: Today will be the fifth training camp practice in four days and in all likelihood they will be putting the pads on once again when they hit the field. Chan Gailey is a big believer in practicing with pads on so the players can get used to them again and he feels it helps avoid injuries. He feels to be a physical football team you need to hit and you need to have the pads on. He feels walktrhoughs help but to understand the game and leverage you need to be in pads. The players aren't complaining since they know the way they used to do things around there have not been working over the past decade.
