Loss Devastating To Bills Playoff Hopes

Bills Lose 35-34: Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a late interception and then Matt Hasselbeck hit Nate Washington with a 15 yard touchdown pass on a 4th and 9 play to lift the Titans to a 35-34 come from behind win over the Bills. Fitzpatrick did throw three touchdown passes to Fred Jackson, Donald Jones, and Stevie Johnson. Brad Smith returned a kickoff 89 yards for a score in the loss. Chris Johnson had an 83 yard touchdown run and ran for 195 yards in just 18 carries to lead the Titans to the victory. We are not doing grades this week but check out our quick recap of the loss. Bills Blitz.

Rinehart Hurt: The Bills suffered one injury in the loss to the Titans. Chad Rinehart was carted off the field with an injury late in the game. No other players appeared to be hurt in the game. Injury Page.

Weather Clearing: The Weather should be fine for today's game between the Bills and the Titans. Skies will clear after the possibility of a leftover morning shower with the gametime high in the mid to upper 50s. The wind may be a factor as they will be out of the West at 16mph.

We are at the game! For updates from the Ralph follow us on twitter!

Friday October 19, 2012

Bills Fined: The NFL has fined the Bills $20,000 for not disclosing the wrist injury that Mario Williams has. He was not on the injury report but it kept coming off as something that was bothering him. The last two weeks he has been listed on the report as a player practicing fully and has been listed as probable for the last two games.

Roster Move: The Bills made another roster move today as David Snow has been moved up again from the practice squad and recently signed Reggie Wells was released. The Bills needed another linemen for the active roster with Kraig Urbik and Cordy Glenn still sidelined and obviously Wells wasn't ready to be active forcing the move. Depth Chart.

Three Out; Four Questionable: Kyle Williams, Da'Norris Searcy, Spencer Johnson, and Terrence McGee are all listed as questionable for the game. Williams and Searcy are fine according to Chan Gailey so they should be good to go for Sunday. Johnson and McGee also have a good chance at playing. Kraig Urbik, Cordy Glenn, and Mark Anderson have been ruled out. Gailey expects to have Urbik and Glenn back after the bye. Injury Page.

Thursday October 18, 2012

Urbik Ruled Out: Kraig Urbik was ruled out of Sunday's game by Chan Gailey after he failed to practice today. He did practice on a limited basis on Wednesday but didn't make it on the field today. The coach thinks Terrence McGee will practice tomorrow and he should play as should Kyle Williams and Da'Norris Searcy. It also looks like Spencer Johnson will make it back for the Titans game as well. Injury Page.

Williams Returns To Practice: Kyle Williams returned to practice today after sitting yesterday to rest his ailing ankle. Terrence McGee was suppose to return today but did not he was working on the side with trainers as his surgically repaired knee seems to be acting up. Also sitting today were Kraig Urbik, Cordy Glenn, and Mark Anderson. Urbik did some work yesterday. Da'Norris Searcy returned to practice on Thursday after sitting Wednesday with his ankle injury. Chan Gailey will update the injury situation after practice.

Bills Look To Go Into Bye On High Note: The Bills have one more game before getting to their bye and they need a win to go into the week off with a share of first place in the division. The Titans are very beatable but the good Bills team needs to show up for them to win. If this team is going to challenge for a playoff spot this is a game they have to win. Game Preview.

Wednesday October 17, 2012

Brooks Practices: For the first time in the regular season Ron Brooks practiced and said he came through it fine. He is eligble to be activated from the injured reserve list designated to return on October 31st. Spencer Johnson and Kraig Urbik also returned to practice today on a limited basis after being out two weeks with ankle injuries. There were new names on the list of players that did not practice as Kyle Williams, Da’Norris Searcy, Cordy Glenn, Mark Anderson, and Terrence McGee all sat. Anderson is no longer on crutches and says he's making progress. Chan Gailey hopes Glenn can return against Houston after the bye. McGee is expected to practice tomorrow. In other news, Gailey says that it is likely that Shawne Merriman will be active on Sunday. Injury Page.

Byrd Honored: Jairus Byrd has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He got the award based on his two late interceptions that basically gave the Bills the victory. He also had four tackles including one for a loss. He is tied for the AFC lead with three interceptions.

Practice Squad Filled: As expected the Bills have put Jay Ross and David Snow back on the practice squad. The two were signed to the active roster on Saturday to provide depth at two positions that were hurt by injury. Ross played sparingly and Snow did not play at all. The practice squad is now at capacity. Front Office Page.

Ugly Win: The Bills got a much needed win on Sunday in Arizona but it was an ugly win according to Tony Bogyo. The win is nice but so many questions remain about the 2012 Buffalo Bills. He breaks the win down and takes a look at what is next for the team. Complete Story.

Monday October 15, 2012

Bills Bring Howell Back: The Bills filled the temporarily open roster spot by re-signing S Delano Howell today. He was released Saturday but needed back as the team only had three safeties on the roster and Da'Norris Searcy suffered an ankle injury yesterday. Depth Chart.

Injury Update: Chan Gailey updated the media on the latest involving players that are out with injuries. Gailey said that Kraig Urbik and Spencer Johnson are ahead of Cordy Glenn as they try to return from an ankle injury. They have the best chance at getting on the practice field this week but I'm guessing with the bye looming after the Titans game all three will probably be held out until after the bye. The Bills also may get Ron Brooks back in the practice setting on Wednesday. That is the first day he's eligible to practice as he is designated to return from injured reserve. He cannot play until week 9. Injury Page.

Bills Bring Merriman Back: In a somewhat surprising move, the Bills have brought back Shawne Merriman to give them more depth at the defensive end position thanks to the injury to Mark Anderson. The team released both players they signed Saturday as Jay Ross and David Snow. They likely will end up back on the practice squad. The moves leave one open roster spot. Merriman was brought in for a visit today and the team must have liked where he was at. Chan Gailey told the media this afternoon that they brought back Merriman because you can never have too many guys that can rush the passer. Front Office Page.

Defense Aggressive: The Bills were aggressive on defense and that is why the Bills were able to pull out the win in Arizona. The offense struggled with the exception of two nice touchdown drives. It was the defensive front four getting a ton of pressure with some help from the linebackers that kept the Bills in this one. Gameday Grades.

Searcy Hurt: Da'Norris Searcy suffered an ankle injury late in the win over Arizona and Brad Smith suffered a rib injury. Chan Gailey spoke on WGR this morning and said he doesn't think either looks too serious at this time. Injury Page.
