Bills Lose Tough One In New England

Injury Update: Appearing on his weekly radio show on WGR Rex Ryan gave an injury update from last night's game. He said Tyrod Taylor is expected to play against Kansas City on Sunday. He was in a lot of pain at the end of the game after suffering an injury to the collarbone area of his throwing arm. It is too early too tell if Mario Williams will be ready, he underwent an MRI on his injured foot. He said he was confident he would play. John Miller has a high ankle sprain and Ryan said he will not play this week neither will Marcus Easley who is undergoing concussion protocol. Ryan did not have an updated on Marcell Dareus who left the game twice but returned both times and said Bacarri Rambo should be good to go after he returned late in the game after suffering a shoulder injury. Injury Page.

Gameday Grades: The Bills had a great defensive effort in New England but Tyrod Tayor was inaccurate all game long and the offense couldn't get anything going while the special teams needed to be special to pull of the upset and they were anything but. Gameday Grades.

Bills Blitz: The Bills came up with a solid defensive effort pressuring Tom Brady most of the night but it wasn't enough as they went down to defeat to the undefeated Patriots 20-13 in their horror house knows as the Razor. The two teams traded field goals and it stayed that way until the final minutes of the first half when LeSean McCoy couldn't haul in a pass in the end zone that would have given them a lead. Dan Carpenter missed a 48 yard field goal setting up the Patriots first scoring drive that ended in the first of two touchdowns for RB James White on a 20 yard catch and run. The Bills took their first possession of the second half and drove to their only touchdown as McCoy capped the 56 yard drive with a 27 yard touchdown run to tie it at 10. The Patriots responded with a touchdown drive of their own as White ran it in from 5 yards out. Leodis McKelvin fumbled a punt that setup a Stephen Gostkowski field goal to give the Patriots a 10 point lead. The Bills drove to a late field goal and got the ball back but ran out of time. Several Players Banged Up: The Bills lost several players to injuries in this game as Marcus Easley, John Miller, Mario Williams, Marcell Dareus, Charles Clay, and Bacarri Rambo came out of the game after getting hurt with Rambo, Dareus and Clay returning. Easley suffered a head or neck injury in punt coverage. Miller suffered an ankle injury and was carted off. Williams hurt his foot and Rambo suffered a shoulder injury. Clay suffered a neck injury. Tyrod Taylor suffered an injury to the collarbone area of his throwing hand late but stayed in the game but was in obvious pain. Injury Page.

Gameday Inactives: The is only one or two inactives because of injury this week. Kyle Williams remains out with a PCL injury that gives him a 50/50 shot at returning before the season is over. Cyrus Kouandjio practiced all week and was listed as probable but is inactive. Don't know if his knee isn't ready yet or it was a coach's decision. That makes Jordan Mills active. Richie Incognito was questionable with a shoulder injury but as expected he is active. EJ Manuel returns to the backup role tonight after being inactive against the Jets. Josh Johnson is back on the inactive list. The other healthy inactives are Boon Herron, Stefan Charles, Gabe Ikard, and Randell Johnson. The Patriots banged up offensive line gets a boost as both Sebastian Vollmer and Marcus Cannon are active.

Taylor To Void Final Year: Adam Schefter was the first to report today that Tyrod Taylor will reach playing time incentives tonight that will allow him to void the final year of his three year deal. That would make him a free agent after next season but the team would likely try to reach a longterm deal with him if this season ends successfully.

Cold Night In Foxboro: The Bills will play their coldest game of the season so far tonight in Foxboro with a gametime temperature of 28°. The game will be played under clear skies with winds out of the Northwest at 9mph.

Things Break Pretty Well For Bills: Things broke very well for the Bills in the early games on Sunday. Miami lost to Dallas, the Jets went down to defeat in Houston, and the Raiders lost in Detroit. In the late games, The Chiefs took care of San Diego easily so that is the main blemish on the day setting up a monster matchup between the two teams in Kansas City next week. Of course, Houston winning was a double edge sword as they continue their surge in the AFC playoff race. The Bills get a shot at the Texans in two weeks in Orchard Park. It shows that tomorrow night's game isn't nearly as important in the race as the following two games are.

Saturday November 21, 2015

Short Injury Report: The Bills have a short final injury report for Monday night's game against New England. Kyle Williams has been ruled out and Rex Ryan said today that it is 50/50 that he will return before the end of the season. The coach did say he's hopeful Aaron Williams will return from his neck injury before the season is over. He isn't eligible to return until the Philadelphia game on December 13th. Richie Incognito is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury that has limited him in practice the past two days. Ryan and Incognito say he will play. Cyrus Kouandjio is listed as probable to return after missing two games with a knee injury. He practiced fully again on Saturday. Karlos Williams and Leodis McKelvin returned to the field after illnesses and will play as they have been removed from the injury report. McKelvin sat out Thursday and Friday while Karlos was limited on Friday. The team will have a walkthrough tomorrow before flying to Boston. Injury Page.

Friday November 20, 2015

McKelvin Still Out: Leodis McKelvin was sidelined for a second straight day with an illness but Rex Ryan said he's expected to play on Monday night. Karlos Williams also is expected to play but was limited with an illness as well. Richie Incognito was also new to the injury report as he was limited with a shoulder issue but the coach also expects him to play. Cyrus Kouandjio is practicing fully and Kyle Williams remains sidelined. The team doesn't have to give official designations to players until tomorrow since they play on Monday night. Injury Page.

Thursday November 19, 2015

Injury Report Short: The Bills only have three names on the initial injury report for Monday night's game. Kyle Williams remains sidelined with his knee injury and he won't play. Leodis McKelvin missed practice because of an illness. Cyrus Kouandjio was limited with the knee injury that has cost him two games. Marcell Dareus was back on the field after missing practice on Tuesday for personal reasons. Denarius Moore was also back after missing practice on Tuesday because of travel issues. He was fined for missing that workout. Injury Page.

Patriots Game Preview: The Bills are flying high after winning two games in five days. They are also well rested after having what amounts to a mini bye which gave them their second period of extended time in a month. That has allowed them to get healthier as they take on their undefeated arch nemesis New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. The Pats are banged up heading into the game after barely surviving against the Giants on Sunday. Complete Preview.

Wednesday November 18, 2015

Rambo Honored: Bacarri Rambo has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his work in the win over the Jets. He forced two fumbles, one which was returned for a touchdown and one which he recovered himself to setup a field goal. He also had the game clinching interception. He is the first Bills DB to win the honor since Jairus Byrd did in 2012.

Tuesday November 17, 2015

Dareus Out For Personal Reasons: Marcell Dareus was not on the practice field when the Bills returned from a four day break today for what would be a Monday practice on a normal week with the team not playing until Monday night. Rex Ryan said he was excused for personal reasons. The team has tomorrow off since it's like a Tuesday in a normal week. Dareus is expected back on the field on Thursday. Denarius Moore missed practice because of travel issues, Ryan indicated he would be fined. Kyle Williams was sidelined again and Ryan re-affirmed he would not play on Monday night. Mario Williams was back on the field after being ill during Thursday night's win. Injury Page.

Enthusiasm Not There? The Bills schedule has been very wacky with a bye week followed by two games in five days then a mini bye. The team gets back to work today after their second extensive break in a month. Tony Bogyo is back with his latest column, instead of breaking down Thursday night's win he gives random thoughts about the Bills, the Patriots, and the rest of the NFL. Complete Story.

Kyle Williams To Sit Again: Rex Ryan made his weekly appearance on WGR yesterday and said that while Kyle Williams is making progress in recovering from his PCL injury, he will not be ready to return this week against New England. Everyone else on the active roster is pretty healthy. Mario Williams missed almost the whole Jets game with an illness but he is expected to be fine now. Nigel Bradham suffered a bloody nose against the Jets but came back in the game. Cyrus Kouandjio has missed two games with a knee injury. Injury Page.

Monday November 16, 2015

Players Enjoy Time Off: The Bills have had a mini bye week after playing two games in five days following their full week bye. Since they won both of those games Rex Ryan gave them extended time off as they have been off since Friday and will not return until tomorrow to begin preparations for the battle with the undefeated Patriots next Monday night. It will be their first back to back primetime games since the Super Bowl years. The Bills got some help during Sunday's games with the Raiders losing in Minnesota but didn't get help when the Steelers beat the Browns and the Chiefs upset the Broncos. As of now the Bills are in the 6th and final playoff position in the AFC.
