Ryan Presser: Rex Ryan addressed the media after the game. They had a lot of self inflicted penalties that allowed the Redskins to have a few long drives. He was encouraged with how they came out and played the second half. They have to keep working and keep grinding and they have to find a way to tackle the quarterback. He feels good about evaluating the football team. He feels good about the guys he sat and he doesn't need to evaluate them more. He was happy with how the 2s played defensively for the most part. He got to see his guys against some really good players. They started making mental mistakes in the 2nd quarter when they got gassed. The number one thing is to evaluate guys and they want to make sure they keep the best 53 and this game will go a long way in helping them do that. Rex called it ridiculous that DeAngelo Hall would hit Chris Gragg on the knee right after getting a 15 yard penalty. He feels the number one job of the officials is to protect the players. It is an ACL injury the coach said. He didn't think the hit was real necessary. He thought EJ Manuel played really well they just need to protect him. He feels real good about the QB situation and that includes EJ. He likes the way he plays and competes. Sometimes quarterbacks take longer to develop and this is the best EJ Manuel he has seen.
Bills Lose 21-16: Say what you want about preseason but two of the three games so far for the Bills have come down to the last play. Both times the Bills came up on the short end of the stick. EJ Manuel threw an interception at the goal line on the game's final play as the Bills lost the Redskins 21-16. Greg Little looked to have the winning touchdown three plays earlier but was called for the push off which was fitting as Fed Ex Field rained down with flags all game long. Jonathan Williams had a 37 yard touchdown run for the Bills lone touchdown. Dan Carpenter was three for three hitting two field goals from 52 yards out. For most of the first half it was the Bills twos against the Redskins ones. Kirk Cousins threw three first half touchdown passes.
Who Helped Themselves: Brandon Spikes was all over the field when he was in the game. Lorenzo Alexander looked good as well despite being called for a questionable roughing penalty that negated a sack. Corey White had an interception but also had a missed tackle. Dan Carpenter hit three field goals including two from 52 yards out. He's all the way back. Walter Powell had a 36 yard punt return that setup a Jonathan Williams 37 yard touchdown run on 3rd and short. EJ Manuel looked pretty good going 21 for 39 for 221 yards and the interception. He also had 38 yards on three scrambles.
Who Hurt Themselves: Nick O'Leary fumbled fighting for more yardage. Gregg Little dropped a pass. Duke Williams was called for a holding penalty that wiped out a Robert Blanton interception. Kory Biermann was called for a very questionable roughing the passer penalty that negated a Manny Lawson sack. David Hawthorne was lost in coverage and was beaten for a touchdown. Bills linebackers need to cover and Hawthorne can't. Dez Lewis dropped a pass and was on the sidelines most of the rest of the game. Cyrus Kouandjio got called for a holding penalty that wiped out a first down.
Gragg Leads Injury Parade: Chris Gragg took a cheap shot hit to the knee by De'Angelo Hall after a catch. He got up under his own power but he was in pain and quickly ruled out. Rex Ryan said it looks like a torn ACL. Jonathan Dowling suffered what looks like a torn ACL as well. He was carted off and was one of many injuries on the day. Jonathan Wiliams was shaken up after he got slammed down after the play was over and no penalty was called. One of the few times all night a flag wasn't thrown. He went to the locker room and was ruled out with a rib injury. Robert Blanton also went to the locker room for an undisclosed injury. Kevin Seymour limped off with a hamstring injury. Reid Ferguson also suffered cramps and Brandon Spikes also limped off but returned. Injuries happened right until the final play when Walter Powell was shaken up on the game ending interception. He was the attended receiver.
Several Sit: The third preseason game is usually a dress rehearsal for the real thing but it Rex Ryan has had enough of all the injuries this summer and is giving several starters the night off. Tyrod Taylor, Sammy Watkins, Richie Incognito, and Eric Wood are not among them as they will player. Sitting out are LeSean McCoy, Charles Clay, Stephon Gilmore, Kyle Williams, Ron Darby, Preston Brown, Jerry Hughes, and Manny Lawson are going to sit. Cardale Jones, Aaron Williams, Mike Gillislee, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Marquise Goodwin are sitting with injuries.
Gameday! The third week of the preseason is here and this is the game that most resembles a regular season game. Traditionally the starters play into the third quarter but it is unknown how long the Bills are willing to risk Tyrod Taylor or LeSean McCoy. Sammy Watkins will make his preseason debut and likely his only appearance before the season starts. He is only suppose to play a series, maybe two at the most. This game is huge for bubble players as the cutdown to 75 is on Tuesday which means 14 players will be released.

Marquise Goodwin left practice early after hitting his head hard and is now in concussion protocol. Nickell Robey-Coleman left practice one day after returning to action. He got a thigh contusion. LeSean McCoy was on the field after leaving early last night with a hand injury. On other injured players, Rex Ryan said Cordy Glenn is getting close but won't play this week. Henderson Returns: It has been a long battle back from Chron's Disease but Seantrel Henderson has been activated off of the PUP list and will practice tonight for the first time in a very long time. He had two surgeries on his intestines and seems to past the worst of the disease but it has been a long road to get his weight back to a level where he could compete.
