Beane Presser: Brandon Beane addressed the media after the Kelvin Benjamin and said he made the move to win today and win tomorrow. He spoke with the Panthers GM yesterday and this morning via text but he didn't sense anything would go down when he told the media at practice he didn't expect anything to get done. They circled back up around 2pm and then again at 3:25pm and it got serious at 3:40pm. Beane said the Bills are getting a fierce competitor who is tough. He knows him well and he will fit in well with the team. He's a blue collar kid who will fit in well in Buffalo. He can help in the run game and it is a win for the Buffalo Bills. He brings size and experience with excellent hands. He's not a speed guy but when he's covered he is still open. He will win the contested balls and he's a strong player. It will be up to Sean McDermott if he will see the field Thursday night. When Beane was involved in drafting Benjamin 28th overall they had a mid first round grade. He said he was involved in talks with a lot of teams but wouldn't address the rumor that they inquired about Martavious Bryant. They are allowed to re-negotiate the 5th year option if they decide to try and extend him. Beane joked that getting a player for a draft pick saved him in the locker room since they are tired of him trading players and not getting anyone back. Beane talked to Benjamin who seemed happy and excited about coming to Buffalo. Beane said that they couldn't trade Anquan Boldin and he likely will stay retired.
Bills Trade For WR: As the trading deadline past Adam Schefter was the first to report that the Bills have traded for Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin giving Carolina 3rd and 7th round picks in the 2018 draft. The Bills had two third round picks and it is their third that goes to Carolina, not the one they got from Philadelphia, and the 7th they got from the Chargers for Cardale Jones. Ian Rapoport reports that the deal came together at 3:57pm, three minutes before the deadline. This move is definitely a move for now as the Bills obviously feel they can make a run this year and Benjamin can help with that. He came into the league the same year as Sammy Watkins but the Panthers picked up the option on him so he's under contract next year for $8.5 Million. Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott are very familiar with him of course from their days in Carolina. He's a big target at 6'5" which the team can use, not a burner. He has 32 catches for 475 yards this year which would lead the Bills receving corps by a lot. The Bills have released Joe Banyard again to make room for Benjamin. Depth Chart. Front Office Page.
Poyer, Humber Expect To Play: Jordan Poyer and Ramon Humber both told the media after practice today that they expect to play but the final decision belongs to the team. Sal Capaccio reports that Poyer said he "likes his chances" of playing while Humber says he "plans on" playing. E.J. Gaines also said he expects to play unless the medical staff tells him he's not. That doesn't necessarily mean any of them will be cleared. Gaines did not practice today along with Richie Incognito who was limited yesterday but sat out today with his ongoing ankle issue. No word on if he's in jeopardy of missing Thursday's game. Injury Page.
Bills On The Practice Field: The Bills are holding a rare Tuesday practice with this being an abbreviated week. Jordan Poyer and Ramon Humber were on the field during the stretching portion of practice at least. Poyer is wearing a big brace on his injured knee. Richie Incognito and E.J. Gaines did not practice. Gaines was working on the sidelines on the stairmaster. Injury Page.
McDermott Presser: Sean McDermott addressed the media this morning before the Bills hit the practice field to continue preparing for Thursday night's matchup with the Jets. The coach hopes that E.J. Gaines and Jordan Poyer will be able to go on Thursday night. Poyer had a good day yesterday and they will see what he can do today. He also said there is a chance Ramon Humber will be ready but with the way Matt Milano has been playing they don't have to rush him back. He pretty much ruled out Charles Clay. On Kyle Williams he said he has put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears for this team and he know what that means to himself. On the Jets he said they are well coached and play hard. You can't let the record fool you they are a good football team who has been in almost every game. On the trading deadline while playing on Thursday night would probably preclude any new player from playing it wouldn't stop them from making a deal if it was good for the team. There is great competition at defensive tackle and it is a good rotation for them. Adolphus Washington has worked hard and they have seen a jump in his progress. His best football is ahead of him. On Patrick DiMarco he said the backs don't get all those yards without him and the blocking from the receivers. McDermott was asked about the longterm quarterback situation and he said Tyrod Taylor has shown from the time he got here how committed he is with the rehab process he went through after last season. He knew what type of man he was dealing with and he has seen it played out on the field this year. The Bills announced a practice squad move they brought back DT Marquavius Lewis to the unit and released LB Zach Vigil. Injury Page.

McDermott Presser: It is a shortened schedule at One Bills Drive with the game against the Jets looming on Thursday night. The team didn't have 24 hours to enjoy the victory and were back to work this morning. Sean McDermott addressed the media this afternoon. The coach said Jordan Poyer made some progress and will practice on a limited basis today. Charles Clay will not practice but he is also making progress. E.J. Gaines will not practice today, it seems to be a longshot that he will return on a short week. They are looking to get everyone as fresh as possible on a short week and they want to make sure everyone gets the gameplan down. He credits his staff in helping get the players to believe in the process. They have good people in the building and the players are good people as well. He got chills seeing how the bench erupted when Brandon Tate made his great catch and run. They are taking it one game at a time and they are focused on the task at hand on a short week. He said he was extremely proud of how the players stayed focused and how they played but nobody gives out awards for 5-2. He's happy and fired up for the fans even though he doesn't show that emotion at the lecturn. The players have earned it by putting in the work. He likes that they are having fun mentioning Dion Dawkins dancing to Thriller on the sidelines. He thought Leslie Frazier and his staff did a great job of adjusting after the opening touchdown drive by Oakland. He thought they did well in coverage yesterday considering they couldn't get pressure because the ball was coming out so quickly. He called Cordy Glenn a force when he's in there and they have a lot of trust in him. He also thought Jordan Mills did a really nice job throughout the game. The next man up theme seems to be working very well. He said they have 63 guys and they are preparing them all to play. They erase all labels there are no backups they are all players. Injury Page.
