Bills Get Blown Out For Second Consecutive Week
Sunday November 12, 2017
Gameday Grades: They are as bad as you would expect considering the annihilation the Saints handed them. Gameday Grades.
Bills Blitz: I thought it was impossible for this team to play worse than they did against the Jets but they somehow managed to do so. The Saints ran for 298 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in their 47-10 rout of the Bills. Mark Ingram scored three times while Alvin Kamara, Drew Brees, and someone named Trey Edmunds added touchdown runs as the Saints destoryed the Bills snapping their four game home winning streak. The Bills couldn't get anything going on offense after a 36 yard run by LeSean McCoy during the opening series of the game. That setup a 37 yard field goal by Stephen Hauschka but the Saints got the ball and never looked back. Nate Peterman came in during garbate time and threw a touchdown pass to Nick O'Leary. Bills Blitz.
Injury Update: Jerry Hughes suffered shin injury late in the first half. He had it taped up after halftime and stayed dressed but did not return. Injury Page.
Gameday Inactives: E.J. Gaines and Charles Clay were listed as questionable for today's game but only Clay will play. Gaines is inactive which could hurt against the Saints passing attack. Seantrel Henderson was also listed as questionable but is active and will be the swing tackles. Zay Jones and Cordy Glenn were both ruled out on Friday. The healthy scratches are led by newly signed Travaris Cadet. Also inactive are: Conor McDermott, Khari Lee, and John Miller.
Gameday Weather: It will be cloudy and cool for today's game at New Era Field. The high temperature will be in the low 40s with the wind out of the southeast at just 5mph.

Jones, Glenn Out: The Bills have ruled Zay Jones and Cordy Glenn out for Sunday's game against New Orleans. Seantrel Henderson is a new addition to the injury report and is questionable with a back injury that will keep him out of practice on Friday. If he can't go on Sunday, Conor McDermott will be active as the third tackle, suddenly carrying five tackles isn't too many. Charles Clay and E.J. Gaines continue to practice and are listed as questionable. Clay is expected to play barring a setback and it appears like Gaines will as well. Injury Page.

Three Sit: Three Bills sat out of practice today. For a second straight day Zay Jones and Cordy Glenn did not practice. Sean McDermott said they are day to day but the likelihood they play took a hit today. Richie Incognito also did not practice as he got a veteran rest day. He has been battling an ankle injury. E.J. Gaines and Charles Clay both practiced for a second straight day. Barring a setback both should be back in the lineup on Sunday. Injury Page.
Game Preview: The Bills head back home licking their wounds after a terrible loss at the Meadowlands. They have an extra few days to get ready for a Saints team that has won six straight games and is among the hottest teams in the league. The Bills best best is that this game is at home where the Bills are undefeated on the season. Complete Preview.

McDermott Presser: Sean McDermott addressed the media and said they need to play fast, physical, violent football. Charles Clay and E.J. Gaines will practice on a limited basis while Zay Jones and Cordy Glenn will not practice at all. Every week they need to continue to grow with technique and effort which has been really good. It is part of becoming a better football team. He said he isn't too concerned with the amount of yards they have given up on defense it is about the points that you give up not yards. The team if focused on the Saints who have won six straight they will have their hands full and have to prepare to play well. On Kelvin Benjamin he said he's doing well so far and made nice progress Monday. They we’ll see how he does out there today. Injury Page.

Benjamin Talks: Kelvin Benjamin told the media he is happy to be a Bill and they have a great opportunity here. He said he wanted to play against the Jets but it wasn't realistic. He said he wasn't surprised he was traded but loves the college type atmosphere in Buffalo and he feels the energy. He said he has no health issues he is completely over the knee issue from earlier in the season. He was also on WGR today and talked about learning the playbook over the weekend and doing walkthroughs. He told John Murphy he wants to play fast like a small guy despite having tremendous size.
Many Sit: The Bills were back on the practice field today to begin preparing for the red hot New Orleans Saints. It is considered an extra day of a full practice thanks to the mini bye. So some players are getting an extra day of rest. Zay Jones, Cordy Glenn, Charles Clay, and E.J. Gaines all sat out. Clay did some work off to the side while Gaines took part in a couple of individual drills. Glenn was getting a rest day for his ongoing ankle and foot injuries. Sean McDermott said Clay, Gaines, and Jones are all day to day. Last week he indicated Clay and Gaines are likely to return this week. Kelvin Benjamin had his first full practice after staying in Buffalo over the weekend to learn the playbook. Josh Reed reports that Andre Holmes turned his ankle in practice but stayed on the field. The team also made a practice squad move today adding RB Marcus Murphy and they released G Will Pericak. Injury Page.
